One winner and a couple of seconds.....seem to be getting alot of seconds at the moment. Frankie

Not a bad day, especially proud of spotting Captain John Nixon with the form figures of 098 but rising a significant way in trip, tonight looks pretty competetive but a few I like are. Hamilton 7.35 Tangerine Trees loves it here, he completed a hat-trick over this course and distance last summer and must surely go well again. 8.05 what a great race, Jedi looks a very useful horse but Mark Johnston has a strong hand here with 3 good horses, it is with his bottom weight Lady Eclair that I am going, he has done little wrong this year and if continuing to improve could well take a hand in proceedings. 9.05 Green Agenda Kempton. 7.20 Sulis Minerva 7.50 Magnetic Force 8.50 Posy Fossil 9.20 clockmaker Cheers all Frankie

Putting my selection here in the evenings mainly, due to no time in the morning... Beverley 2.00 Tanked Up looked quite useful, winning and coming second in similar races to this, he then ran behind one of todays opponents Madam Markievicz when not getting home over 6furlongs, back over 5 I fancy him to take the spoils 4.30 Captain John Nixon has been competing over just 7 furlongs in his 3 maiden runs to date, so this is a massive hike in distance, he is a pretty well bred horse, who if improving for the first run in handicap company and this big rise in distance could run very well. Haydock 2.20 Very Good Day is a very short price after finishing behind Rewilding on his last start, but I fancy Ellbeedee to overturn the favourite, she ran very green on only her second start, with that run under her belt she must surely come on for the experience, and Jarvis' horses often improve for the run, look out for Mark Johnstons well bred horse, running for the first time at 4!! 3.20 Ginger Ted was a non runner when declared for a race recently so keep an eye on him, if he does take his chance, his last run, despite being a win at 40/1 has worked out to be pretty decent form, both Flaneur and Kellys Eye who finished second and third have won races since, so it's Ginger Ted if he runs for me. 4.55 Satwa Moon has never raced on turf, but his style seems to indicate he won't have any problem on grass, the booking of Dettori looks significant for this horse who looked very useful on his seasonal debut when getting into all sorts of traffic problems but still winning cosily, he then ran a little below par after that, but after a bit of a break he could take a hand in this race. Yarmouth. 3.40 Via Aurelia for James Fanshawe and ridden by Jamie Spencer, looks extremely interesting on her handicap debut. 4.10 I expect the trainer and jockey to get a double with Deacon Blues winning this tight little contest. 5.40 Drum Major was a beaten favourite just two days ago, but this shorter trip should suit and I expect a win in a weak race. Cheers all Frankie

Yep did win...bizarre, and he had the second, could be a good night for Hannon as I highlighted. Frankie
-
God mate i'm confused I watched it and thought the fave had romped home...confusion on Betfair as to the result..crazy Frankie
-
Well that was bizarre, Hannons called winner in first race, but judge gets it wrong...very strange Frankie

As you can probably guess my only two bets for this afternoon were, 'My Name is Frank' second at 11/2 and Red Twist second at 9/2 so a good run from both but not winners...theres a few I fancy tonight. As a side note i'm so glad Alpine_Saint does not frequent this forum area...what a **** Folkestone 7.15 Miss Keck looked a useful horse when winning this week, and this furlong longer trip may suit her even more as she was running on well over 2miles. 7.45 Bated Breath must be well thought of but is a very skinny price, one I will take him on with is Mark Johnstons Comedy Hall, he has not been flying this season but is down to just a pound higher mark than when last winning and as with all horses from this stable you know they will be trying. 8.15 Forsyth is now in handicap company, despite finishing behind Pass Muster last time out, he was a monkey at the start and must have wasted alot of energy, if he can settle this time, Swinbank remains in good form and is a master at getting his horses ready for handicap company 9.15 Baybshambles is a tentative selection in the last, he has been steadily improving every run this year and is down to a mark 2 pound lower than his last win. Windsor 8.30 I love Baylini but she needs everything to drop her way so my preference is for Cheam Forever, he was very well backed last time at Bath but ran poorly, he is an animal with alot of ability and I hope he can retain some of that tonight It looks like Richard Hannon has a strong hand at Windsor tonight, he has farmed the 6.30 race in recent years and has a great record at this track along with Richard Hughes, so a multiple bet on his horses tonight may pay dividends Good luck all Frankie p.s. I have stuck a couple of quid on Wunder Strike too in the hope that he can transfer his all weather form to the grass.

Found this, very interesting reading and makes my selection of Ice Blue even more promising, might have to back it now. Trends for past 10 years of Prix du Jockey Club: Age Race for 3yos Breeding French bred: 4-6-48 Irish bred: 3-4-48 British bred: 2-7-34 American bred: 1-1-20 German bred: 0-1-3 UAE bred: 0-0-1 10 of 10 winners sired by a group 1 winner From 2000 to 2004 (when race was run over 1M 4F) 4 of 5 winners were sired by group 1 winner over 1M 4F. Since 2005 all 5 winners were sired by a horse who had won over no further than 1M 2½F Recent/Past Form 10 of 10 winners had had 3 to 6 career starts 10 of 10 winners had run 2 or 3 times that season 10 of 10 winners finished in the first 3 last time out 7 of 10 winners won last time out (2 of 3 exceptions placed in group 1's last time out) 7 of 10 winners ran in Longchamp group or listed race last time out 3 of 10 winners ran at Chantilly last time out 10 of 10 winners ran in the last 40 days 8 of 10 winners had won a listed or group race 10 of 10 winners had won over 1M+ 4 of 10 winners had won at Chantilly (1 exception was placed on only run here, other 5 were having their first course start) Other Races French 2000 Guineas winner (Lope De La Vega): 176 (1-0-3) Record of horses that finished 2nd/3rd/4th in the French 2000 Guineas: 431 (1-1-3) Prix Noailles winner (Planteur): 41250 (1-1-5), (since race run over 1M 2½F: 50) Prix Greffulhe winner (Ice Blue): 821008 (1-1-6), (since race run over 1M 2½F: 008) Prix La Force winner (Simon Montfort): 1070024 (1-1-7) Prix De Guiche winner (Behkabad): 0175 (1-0-4) Prix Des Chenes winner (Bekhabad): 105 (1-0-3), (since race run over 1M 2½F: 05) 2 of 10 winners ran in the French 2000 Guineas last time out, finishing 12 2 of 10 winners ran in the Prix D'Avre last time out, finishing 13 2 of 10 winners ran in the Prix Greffulhe, finishing 14 2 of 10 winners ran in the Criterium International as a 2yo, finishing 17 Trainers French-trained runners: 8-14-105 British-trained runners: 2-3-25 Irish-trained runners: 0-2-20 Rest Of Europe: 0-0-4 Alain De Royer-Dupre (2-2- and Pascal Bary (2-1-7) have each trained the winner twice in the past 10 years. Jean-Claude Rouget (1-1-15) won the race last year but has only seen 2 of his 15 runners make the frame. Andre Fabre (0-4-17) has only won the race once (1997 with Peintre Celebre) and he’s only found 4 places from his 17 runners in the past decade. Aidan O’Brien (0-1-18) has a terrible record in the race, gaining just 1 place from 18 runners since 2000. The last Irish-trained winner of this race was Caerleon (Vincent O’Brien) in 1983. Price 5 of 10 winners have gone off 12/1 or bigger No strong trends on prices of winners in this race, though it has not been a race to follow favourites. Favourites (2-2-12) have won just 2 of the last 10 and show a level stakes loss of 6.14 over past 10 years. 9 of the 10 favourites went off shorter than 3/1 and only 1 of those won and 2 others got placed. Summary: Based on the trends from the past 10 years you are looking for a horse: • By a group 1-winning sire who’d won over no further than 1M 2½F • Run 2 to 3 times this season • Finished in the first 3 last time out (7 of 10 won) • Ran at Longchamp or Chantilly on latest start • Had run in the past 40 days • Won over 1M+ • Won a group or listed race • Trained in France or Great Britain • Trained by P Bary or A Royer-Dupre • Avoid favourites Frankie

Thing is Ade, I think the value has gone now, I know he beat Workforce, but he had excuses that day, bit went through mouth, seasonal debut (Stoutes often need the first run) plus only second ever run, this is a huge field and anything could happen, I am not betting on the race but if I was i'd look at something like Ice Blue, good French trainer horse has won at the distance and has yesterdays winning jockey Ryan Moore on board. Frankie
-
Having a little double over in Ireland today... Listowel Trainer Patrick O' Brady says to back his horse Caesars Song in the 5.35, plus his other runner Takestan in the 3.35 is being well backed, so worth a small double me thinks. Frankie
-
Right back down to earth and on to todays selections. Brighton 3.30 Ubiquitos showed some good form last year without winning, if fully wound up for his seasonal debut he could take this race. 4.30 Ocean Countess loves it round Brighton, she has run here 5 times, winning four and placed second once, both Aegan Shadow and Buxton are in good form, but I fancy Ocean Countedd to continue her love affair with Brighton. Worcester 2.40 Festival Dreams 3.40 Ghimaar 5.10 Bobble Hat Bob Southwell 3.20 Rodrigo Fontana and Somethin' Stupid 4.20 Tomintoul Star 5.50 Consult Good luck all...One week to the Isle of Wight Festival, can't wait. Frankie
