100% agree. I championed Simeon Jackson a couple of weeks ago but I got no response. I'm sure people had never heard of Michael Kightly when he was in non-league too. There are lots of decent players in the lower leagues, and I would much prefer a player on their way up tham one on their way down.

Sorry, what? All I was saying is that people look for different things. As you said earlier you thought Paterson didn't put his foot in enough, whereas for a target man I don't think that's his job, so didn't rate his performance on that. That's all. Someone's got your back up methinks

Lallana is a lot shorter than Schneiderlin to be fair. Probably about 6 inches difference.

Have to say as well I was so impressed with Paterson, he really was excellent, and will create a lot of trouble for defences, namely because he is a **** of a lot faster than people think, and bloody good in the air.

Excellent in the first half, got on the ball a lot, controlled the game. Had a couple of cracking efforts, and some beautiful long passing. Second half was pretty anonymous. The thing is Scneiderlin needs to be protected to play to his best. See Xabi Alonso. If we could protect him with someone other than Wotton (who isn't good enough imo), then we could get a hell of a lot out of him. Gillett would be better in that position, but I guess Pardew wants some midfield experience.

It kind of makes you think if someone (up there) is punishing people for leaving us in the ****. I expect to see Nathan Dyer have some problems soon...

Look, I think we played pretty well today, and I was happy with the performance. All I am saying is that the CB pairing struggled to deal with the Millwall attack at some points. That may be as much about Wotton failing to protect the back four enough, than about the CB pairing. I agree that Harding was good though, and Murty will certainly do a job for us. I'm just saying it as I saw it, nothing else. Either way they're nowhere near as bad as Norwich
