  2. yep, Far too much hoofball, all launched up the middle, not good and will need to be addressed.
  3. You needn't of worried Nick.
  4. Why Smalltime? Don't you support your local team? You think you shouldn't remind the Guildford reds of their glory hunting? You take pride in seeing loads of Chelsea, Arsenal, Man Utd and Liverpool shirts walking the streets of Southampton? Thought not.
  5. Im off for a pre-match dinner, catch up with you guys tomorrow when hopefully we can all celebrate and discuss a great result for the lads. Have a good evening everyone and Play Up Pompey!
  6. Because it's not as violent a place as Southampton?
  7. Now Now Denzil, It's only a load of blokes kicking around a bit of synthetic leather.
  8. I'm not surprised one bit.
  9. Hey, A bit more positivity here would not go amiss peeps! I'm a glass half empty kinda guy and even I reckon pompey will get a draw! C'mon whats up with ya! Crouch and Defoe to finally click.

  11. 8.00PM Sky Sports 1 Portsmouth and Manchester United go in search of their first Premier League wins of the season, live on Sky Sports 1. The sides played out a goalless draw in the Community Shield at Wembley just over a fortnight ago, before United lifted the trophy after a 3-1 win on penalties. Portsmouth were then hammered 4-0 by Chelsea in their league opener last week to leave them bottom of the table on goal difference. Pompey have been handed the hardest possible start to the campaign with the defending champions the first visitors to Fratton Park, and Harry Redknapp will realise that his men need to improve drastically. Kranjcar doubt Croatian midfielder Niko Kranjcar is set to miss out after injuring an ankle on international duty last week, but Lassana Diarra has recovered from the knee problem he picked up against Chelsea. Sean Davis and Richard Hughes are fit again after hip problems to provide competition for places in the middle, while Jerome Thomas and John Utaka will also be hoping to feature after being left out of the starting line-up at Stamford Bridge. Armand Traore may be given a debut at left-back after Pompey fought off competition from six other clubs to sign him on a season-long loan from Arsenal. Tevez return United already find themselves five points adrift of Chelsea and Liverpool after being held to a 1-1 draw by Newcastle last Sunday. They travel to Anfield and Stamford Bridge in their next two matches and will be looking to use their game in hand to narrow the gap and climb out of their unfamiliar position in the bottom half. Carlos Tevez is available after a family bereavement kept him out of the clash with Newcastle and is likely to partner Wayne Rooney in attack. Anderson is also back from the Olympics but will not be rushed into action, even though Sir Alex Ferguson is short of options in midfield. Nani is suspended and Owen Hargreaves and Park Ji-sung are not expected to feature despite returning to training. John O'Shea may deputise for Michael Carrick, but Ryan Giggs, Darren Fletcher and Paul Scholes could all keep their places. Possible starting XIs Portsmouth: James, Johnson, Campbell, Distin, Traore, Diop, Diarra, Davis, Thomas, Defoe, Crouch Manchester United: Van der Sar, Brown, Ferdinand, Vidic, Evra, Fletcher, O'Shea, Scholes, Giggs, Rooney, Tevez
  12. Sorry to hear this, its absolutely the most horrible thing in the world!
  13. Nah, None of ours have the imagination or the wit...
  14. Perrin was treated shockingly. The story the press wanted was Redknapp leaves Pompey and goes to Saints because of stupid meddling foreign owner, Pompey are stuffed, super Harry Redknapp saves Pompey. As we all know it never turned out like that. Even the fans never blamed him, except those who believe everything they read in the press. I was mightily impressed with what he coached out of a load of rubbish. I do rate Redknapp, but he is vastly overrated and a decent man like Alain Perrin was tactically and as a coach head and shoulders above Redknapp. I do think your JP looks very promising.
  15. Ah, your too kind!
  16. This is absolutely Honest, d'you know who has had Pompey playing the best football I've seen IMO? Alain Perrin. Not many Pompey fans will agree with that statement, I wont bother justifying it. Redknapp is capable of attracting top players and has been backed by Mr. Gaydamak, so tactical and style comparisons between the managers two teams are unfair. Perrin had inferior players to Redknapp yet the way he had them playing was lightyears ahead of Redknapp. It's just a shame the players did not have the same quality. I can see early similarities in the two set-ups and their european styles of coaching and play. Lets hope for saints sake Lowe does not treat JP like Mandaric treated Perrin?
  17. It sounded like a really good performance from Saints. But some of the reactions from Fans on the main forum is laughable. I mean they're are talking about beating a side 1-0 who have not won a game at home in recent memory. I do actually admire what Saints are trying to do with little or no money but as things stand any player who shows any promise in the first half of the season is going to be bought by the more affluent teams in your division and the premiership. I understand the pride that Saints fans must feel in the young talent that has come through its academy and I look forward to the time in the next few years when a homegrown pompey player comes through our fledgling academy, but I think the reaction to one good result against a team who has completely lost the plot like Derby is way OTT.
  18. I know but this guy makes me look like a complete amatuer!
  19. Saintmirac Posted on 23/08/2008 17:25 23-8-08 Remember this day at Pride Park the team that is going to dominate football in Great Britian for the next fifty years was born. All hail the mighty SAINTS.
  20. He'd love it!
  21. No, but I only have to get up to make a cup of Tea and he jumps into my seat, then gives me the eyes when I return "Your not really gonna make me get up, are you?" I love all dogs always have, but my personal experience of greys are that they make awesome pets and I'd encourage anyone to give one of them lovely lads a home, they dont always get it right but they are so desperate to please you that you cant help but love 'em! If as is rumoured the Portsmouth Greyhound Stadium closes soon (I hope it doesn't), there will be even more of the adorable creatures in need of a home, I've already agreed that should it close we'll take another one.
  22. Brilliant! the swear filter wont let you write beeatch! I've had mine since last may, funnily enough I have just returned home from feeding the dog at lunchtime to find he's gone upstairs again (I left the stair gate open), trouble is he cant get back down so I have to carry him. Thankfully he never left us any presents upstairs this time! No one ever told me having a dog would ruin the house, I was so naive!!! I would not swap him for the world though.
  23. Thanks Errol, Yes, there are a few 'bad' people involved but on the whole it's good. The dogs enjoy the running. I always find the saddest thing is the amount of dogs that struggle to find homes on retirement. I think they have a bad rep, people say they are snappy and need loads of exercise. Neither could be further from the truth, Greyhounds need less exercise than most dogs, they are incredibly lazy. Mine getstwo 20 minute walks a day, he must sleep for 20 hours each day, he rarely barks and has NEVER displayed any aggression. I keep him on his lead at all times, it is true that Greyhounds can kill cats etc, but mine will never get the chance, not that I think he'd want too.
  24. Greyhounds have a 27% protein kibble mix, that means their farts REALLY stink!!!!!
  25. What d'you expect? he's a Pompey Dog! (Actually TBH I don't really think he even likes fooball, we made him wear that scarf) I know for a fact that plenty of the Dogs that race at Portsmouth are Saints supporters.
