  1. That's one of the major problems at this football club - none of them have any balls and that includes most of the players, management and SR.
  2. But do you think Bazunu is currently good enough to play in the Premier League? Do you think he'd start for any other team in the division?
  3. Yes but which 10 other existing players would you pick while waiting the customary 28 days for the new signings to get up to speed with our brilliant system which gets us playing football like Arsenal? You can't expect just to walk into such a great side - a place has to be earned over time.
  4. Can anyone seriously make a good case for Bazunu as a first choice keeper in the Premier League? What makes him suitable? What are his strengths? Does he make lots of great saves, command his box, make correct decisions quickly, communicate well with his defence? I don't think he does any of those things well at the moment. Maybe his time will come but it certainly isn't now and we are suffering because of it. That's not me scapegoating him because I agree others are culpable but this thread happens to be about Bazunu.
  5. Another day and still nothing to see here. Time to get your finger out Rasmus, the clock is ticking.
  6. It's all about who offers most money - everything else is just noise.
  7. Probably because it takes any new player a few weeks to get up to speed with the scintillating football we produce - you can't just walk into our side as the current players are all brilliant. Fight for your place and wait or an injury because there'll be no drop in form.
  8. Unfortunately there are the haves and the have-nots in the Premier League. Just watched a fantastic game of football between two of the haves and the skill, pace, power and intensity only emphasised how far behind we are. Without the funding to sign the best players we can only put out a team that tries its hardest but we can never be anything other than make weights. Not wishing to sound like Semmens but the standard of football on display tonight compared to what we produce is night and day.
  9. Exactly. If you watch Orsic he likes to play on the left, cut in and shoot right footed. That's his strength so why play him on the wrong side. None of this is rocket science.
  10. Is that why he doesn't use the two players we've signed already? Madness.
  11. Well he has a different slant on the meaning of the word exciting than I do. I really couldn't give a monkeys about Boss and Wilcox because right now it's players we need.
  12. If he holds the line Watkins is offside and Lyanco doesn't even need to head the ball. Having said that I agree that he is anything but dominant in the air - thought he'd be more like 'Killer' Svensson who would always stick his head in where it might get hurt.
  13. Exactly and I hope the coaches have the nous to make him sit down and watch re-runs of the goal while telling him in no uncertain terms how costly an error he made. Players need to be made accountable or these mistakes will just continue.
  14. Spot on. Instead of stepping forward Lyanco panicked and stepped back and that simple movement cost us the goal. He should be well enough drilled by now to know how to control the defensive line against a free kick. Very unprofessional.
  15. A good summary apart from the fact that you overlook the point that Bazunu is not yet anywhere close to being good enough at this level. We need a keeper in this window if we are serious about wanting to stay up.
  16. Lallana's weak headed goal for Brighon.
  17. Not long left in this window so hopefully this week will bring us the excitement Ankersen promised. Hopefully at minimum a decent goalkeeper,a midfield enforcer and someone who knows how to put the ball in the net. If we get them Jones needs to stick them in the team straight away and not leave them on the bench while those who have proved they are not good enough continue to play. Time to show some balls and make good on promises.
  18. Read my post - I said it's not just about today. I'm not scapegoating just making the point that, in my opinion, Bazunu is not yet good enough. Leaving him in goal will cost us points and may be detrimental to his career going forward as he is being asked to play at a level he is clearly nowhere near ready for.
  19. Not forgetting a midfield enforcer who gets stuck in and breaks up play.
  20. Unfortunately for him and us it's not just about today. He will cost us points that we can ill afford to squander.
  21. But the previous games have little relevance. I looked at the fixtures you listed and made an estimate of the points Ralph would have acquired. It's only my opinion and pure guesswork of course. Ralph or Jones, doesn't really matter as we'd be in the shite whichever was in charge.
  22. What, you mean Ron Davies - now he could head a ball!
  23. Think Ralph might have done worse if I'm honest. Think the only games he'd have picked up points would have been Forest and Villa at home and he'd have drawn both.
  24. Burns at left back is clearly their weak link. Unfortunately I'm not sure who we have who could exploit that.
  25. Then they are, excuse the pun, dropping the ball. Bazunu must be taken out of the firing line immediately. McCarthy is not good enough and Cabalero is too old. Buy or loan a competent keeper this week or, whatever else we do, we'll still get relegated.
