It gets Lucy Pinder now...
Thinking Saints fans playing it might be influencing it lol.
-
Reading the other forum, reads like ours did when it was rumoured Paul Allen was about to take over.
Lots of posts by one or two of theirs hinting that the deal is all but done and they're very hopeful the deal will happen...
Poor fools... they'll be hit with the fallout when it all goes sour.
-
OK, is it just me the Online Ticket System is going really slow for?
-
I keep getting bored of playing as southampton.
As much as it is refreshing to be able to take the red and white all the way to the champions league (which is reasonably easy with the money chucked at the first 11)
It is just too easy, ML gives me a massive war chest every season and often a healthy top up in january.
I used to enjoy when u really had to graft when you managed saints.
That being said, if real life turns out like my save file, i would be massively happy :-)
Play as Eastleigh then!
Let's you get the 'Bottom to Top' Steam acheivement as well...
Also gives satisfaction in gradually building up the quality of the facilities as well.
-
They're asking people not to say anything in case it wrecks the deal?
And they still haven't got proof of funds.
We've seen this before, it didn't end well...
They might get taken over, but I'm betting the people in the consortium with the actual money won't be in it any more once they see the situation.
If they are gonna be saved, it'll be someone we haven't heard anything about yet.

I cannot believe some of you guys still think we have a chance of staying up lol - let alone still have a club come a week Monday
Must admit it will probably be the only time if the club survives where relegation will not actually be that gutting considering all the other issues that have gone on this year.
And now you know why none of the 'League One' taunts have really affected us fans this year
We're still delighted just to still have a club to support!
-
apparently some bookies are paying out on their relegation now.
might want to claim your winnings before they go bust and all bets are off.
-
'Almost' full?
Heh
-
Hm, so they're being taken over again.
On the lottery chance that they're saved, I still reckon they'll go downhill faster than Amy Williams.
-
Ah dammit
They'll all be busting a gut now...
We'll need to up our game as well.

Much of what you say is true.
My Mum and Dad live in Gosport. A few weeks ago I nipped out to a local takeaway while visiting them and it was full of Portsmouth fans wearing various bits of training kit. I realised then that a lot of "normal" people would lose something very important to them if your club goes under. On a human level, I felt for them and their club. I hoped you'd survive.
Last week your team knocked my team out of the FA Cup with a side that you can't afford to pay. That really grates with me. It's cheating. I feel cheated.
I left the ground proud at the way our 3rd tier team performed and any desire to see you survive was removed. I don't want you to "not exist", there's no bitterness, no twistedness, I just no longer care if you do.
And whilst its true to say that many on here were lobbying for the -10 points to be taken away on a technicality, most realised that it was fair that we were penalised as we had transgressed. At the time we just had trouble dealing with the consequences of the penalty and were desperate to find any way out and anyone to blame (ring any bells?).
When your fan base comes to terms with the fact that your club has transgressed and when the dust has settled then I hope they lay most of the blame in the board room at PCFC Ltd and away from the Premier League. But I also hope they keep a little bit of the blame back for themselves because one key difference between your plight and ours is that many of us were asking questions about the various regimes' stewardship of our club long before we went bang.
I'm sure on reflection you too will come to realise that the book should be thrown at you. Just as it was thrown at us - although it might just be that your book is little heavier than ours was.

They're not too confident of a takeover then...
-
If they had inside info they would be making a MUCH bigger deal of it.
But they're not stating 'sources say' or 'it is believed that'...
They're just stating it as if it's already happened, that's relatively dangerous for a newspaper to put down into (electronic) print unless they're certain...

Certainly sounds like something will happen tomorrow....
I say we appeal if it turns out they were in effect cheating when they beat us...
You can be damn sure Pompey would do the same if the positions were reversed.

Latest from Guardian site:
http://www.guardian.co.uk/sport/2010/feb/17/portsmouth-high-court-administration
Talks of them being the first ever Prem club to enter admin?
"Portsmouth's string of disappointed and out-of-pocket owners might wonder how the club's auditors gave it a clean bill of financial health, almost a year to the day before it became the first Premier League club to file for administration."
Are they going to do it today??
Sounds like they're assuming Pompey will file to the courts for administration protection.
Sounds like they're speculating in the last line mentioning history that it won't be granted.
I wonder if it's inside info or just speculation...

Wasn't JP Magnier rumoured to have looked at us last year? If he turned us down, why on earth would he be interested in that lot down the road?
Straws. Fans. Portsmouth. At. Clutching.
Those words in some sort of order would be my guess.
Or 'leaked' reports by Storrie.
-
They seem to be getting excited about the names being mentioned in a potential takeover on their forum, possibly the previous owners of Man Utd? Although a source from Pompey denying that the takeover would be completed in the next 48 hours seems to have dampened their enthusiasm...
aaand...
For Pete's sake stop feeding the troll...
There's no point arguing with him over and over with the same point because he can just as easily argue the other way...
Just wait and let actual events prove him wrong, he'll disappear then, guaranteed.

If it was just the Champions in the Champs League, ever season it would be Man Utd, Barca, Inter (or whoever happens to win those respective leagues) and then who? Hertha BSC, Sparta Praha, Dynamo Kiev, Red Star Belgrade, Malmo IF? Wouldn't be a great competition IMO.
I like the idea actually. It gives the team in 4th extra incentive to get into the top three. It also gives anyone in the top half a shot at the CL. Who knows, it may even help with some of the financial problems in football. The big clubs may not offer players £150k a week if they were suddenly less sure of getting into the CL.

on a side note...
looks like the Echo really do read this forum for news!

Main reason being we were awesome.
Every time they tried Play Up we immediately responded with Pay Up
Every time they did that godawful tune you hear at amusments, we responded with the same tune with **** off on the end, like we've been doing against most league one teams this season.
They didn't have anything else, and were only heard when we were 4-1 down and we couldn't be arsed to drown them out any more... crap support really, absolutely shocking for the biggest game of their season.
Still, this could be a good strategy for keeping opposition fans quiet... taking their own songs and using them against them.
If it works against Pompey, supposedly the best fans in the land, in the one game of the year where you'd think they'd be up for supporting their team, it can work against anyone, just need to do our research and find out what songs they use against each team so we can work out a good response.
-
Alternatively people could simply be like me and abide by the law.
This is a strange one actually as it is a revenue generator, so i wonder what the real motive could possibly be?
Not possibly to reduce peoples speed (after all they just sit there at no cost, and you can't go faster than the car in front of you...) in accident blackspots, do you think?
-
They tried to sing it, but they didn't really put any heart into it...
-
Haha.
He's clueless... we're gonna win this one

If they do end up going under and have a supermarket built on Fratton Park, I wonder how long it'll be before you see the odd Saints shirt walking around in that supermarket...
