  1. The night is still young my friendly ....
  2. This is indeed a good point well made. Stalin also greatly relaxed prewar Cummunist suppression of the Russian Orthodox Church as it was found that the unifying effects of religion, and the comfort faith brings to people at a time of exceptional hardness, was of some benifit to the Soviet war effort during 'The Great Patriotic War'. However, it is patiently obvious that neither Hitler nor Stalin (in adulthood anyway) can be considred as true 'Christian Warriors' given their actons and the essentially atheist philosophys they pursued. Indeed, employing WWII as a lesson, you could reasonably argue that while we so often see people blaming religion for the world's ills it was in fact atheist political credos that led Humanity into the darkest period of its modern history during the last century. But even that is a simplificaton of course.
  3. Well the historical record does show that Hitler was actually baptised into the Roman Catholic faith as a child. So, strange as it seems, perhaps he was a practicing Christian in his youth - there are gaps in the record that it make hard to say one way or the other. I would speculate that his experiences in the trenches during the Great War may have turned him against religious faith - if so he would not be alone in that.
  4. Well there is a clear difference between arguing (correctly) that Nazi Germany employed religion at times to further its war effort, and then characterizing that perfectly valid point as "Hitler was a Christian" - which is absurd.
  5. But my posts are all perfectly formed pearls of wisdom entirly lacking in "holes" - just ask CB Fry MK II if you doubt t it.
  6. I would be obliged if you could site some examples of those on here who are engaged in excusing and/or apologising for crime because I too would like to join in the condemnation of this appalling behaviour.
  7. Yes - as a rule - it has become my habit to think with my head. What bodily organ do you employ? You really must tell us my dear Fry where you have been hiding this kind and compassionate side to your nature all these years, because methinks I can speak for many on here when I say that we had considered you to be a particularly nasty piece of work who presumably posts on here only to vent your pent-up inner rage, or perhaps to compensate for a wider sense of inadequacy. But now it has suddenly become apparent that this widespread apprehension is in fact mistaken and in reality you are a misunderstood and sensitive soul with an exceptionally well developed sense of empathy for the suffering of your fellow human beings. Easter is indeed a time for miricles - few I think have been quite as profound (and unexpected) as this one
  8. You know damn well that they won't have you in the Klan anymore because you have no clean white sheets left in the airing cupboard. In any case that's just no fun for your average common or garden racist anymore ever since burning crosses were banned by the bloody EU on health and safety grounds. As for the Nazi Party ... well let's face it they are quite fussy now on who they let in. Have you perchance considered the British Legion?
  9. Good night matey - be gentle with her ....
  10. Now you are bored and bad tempered too I see. I can only suggest that you pack it in for the night, give the unfortunate Mrs Whelk some of the attention that she has no doubt been denied, and perhaps tomorrow we will find you in a more convivial mood. You just KNOW it makes sense!
  11. You do keep complaing that you are now borded with all this, but then for some reason always come back for more! I find this behaviour to be somewhat illogical, if not positively bizarre.
  12. Here we go again, happy as can be, all good friends and jolly good company!
  13. All forms of extemisism are a problem are they not? But yes, few would disagree that ISIS inspired terrorism is certainly the issue of the day and one that should never be downplayed.
  14. I'm sure we are both pleased to see that gay people being defenistrated has gone out of fashion of late. However, I would remind you that we did see people being starved to death in the Balkens as recently as the 1990's - so perhaps congratulating ourselves too heartily on the advanced state of European moral development is a rather premature activity we would do well to be wary of.
  15. Well the point was raised as a specific critism of Islam. I'm pleased to see that we both agree the issue is indeed a wider one than that.
  16. But you will agree that any religious text that was written many centuries ago is highly likely to include viewpoints that were prevalent at that time but are now deemed to be outdated, if not damn right offensive, in this day and age. There are passages in the old testament too that many modern Christians would find unacceptable.
  17. Well various representations have been made on here of late that some forum members where becoming rather bored with the same points being discussed 'ad naseam'. In a valiant effort to oblige them, I am attempting to put the concept of terror into a wider and more comprehensive context and question whether it is purley a religious phenomena as some seem to assume.
  18. Your new found - and entirly bogus - sense of moral probity reeks of hypocrisy given your record on here. Methinks the real reason mention of the Srebanica massacre upsets you so is that twenty odd pages ago you decided (unwisely) to issue a challenge daring people to list examples of so called "Christian" massacre events that you clearly doubted had ever occured. The number of examples that were provided soon showed you up as the fool that you are. Indeed, that old wound just won't heal will it Fry ... I should try putting some ointment on it if I were you.
  19. No, comparing one act of terror with another is reasonable in context. But if you disagree for some reason then please expand on your reasons why so that we might debate the matter further.
  20. It's not a insult if it's true and what of your profound questions would like me to reply to again?
  21. You feel that Serbian attempts to brutally terrorise Bosnian Muslims into submission and therefore assist in their attempt to "ethnically cleanse" the region don't count as a form of terror like behaviour ?
  22. Every little question your feeble intellect has managed to summon up on here has been answered more than adaquatly. In response your stock tactic seems to be to claim that these answered questions (a child could deel with them in truth) have not been addressed and imagine that you are therefore victorious in some sense. In fact EVERYONE on here can see through this. But if you feel that the appalling violence of the Mexican drug cartels is radically different from other types of terrorism we see in the world then explain why that is so. Personally I doubt that you could find Mexico with a map tattooed to your head let alone understand the issue.
  23. Yep - that is about what I was expecting. But you have stumbled upon a deeply profound truth because it is undeniably true that Mexicans did not fly airliners into US targets on 9/11.
  24. I've just shown you the facts of the matter. More asinine denials from you - which again make no sense in this context - change nothing. If you really want to question that inequality and injustice does indeed cause much violence and crime throughout the world then you can provide your alternate explanation for the appalling situation blighted nations such as Mexico (for example) find themselves in. I have to tell you now that previous experience with reading your posts on here does not inspire me with much hope of a astute, or even comprehensible, reply.
