  1. Keep your friends close...but your enemies closer. These things have a habit of biting you in the arse sooner or later.
  2. You are completely correct..but I guess 30 years ago I was supporting a team..and not a business model & I guess that's where disillusionment sets in. Even players like Shearer and Wallace we got to keep for 6/7 years. Part of supporting a team is not just enjoying the success but identifying with players and having heroes you can grow up with . I guess that part of supporting Saints is pretty much over.
  3. Looks tough. On the positive side I guess Somerset are no great Shakes. Yorkshire will have won the league by then therefore will not be trying and we've Notts at Fortress Ageas Bowl (1 win in 7).
  4. I hope so. Unfortunately is meant to rain most of tomorrow. Also out of our last 4 games we've got Durham away (always tricky) and Yorkshire at home (almost unbeatable at the moment) On the plus side we seem to be hitting some form!
  5. I was there today. Master class in leg-spin and fast bowing from Crane & Edwards. No way should we be sitting bottom of the league on today's form. Rain forecast for Monday.
  6. Actually may not be 1 point each, the match referee Tony Pigott has just said he doesn't know how the points work in this situation.
  7. Match abandoned. Dangerous pitch. 1 point each.
  8. i think if the season started today we would not be stranded at the bottom of the Championship. Bowling looks class today (although pitch looks tricky) Good toss to lose.
  9. I hope Boyzone are on the way, they may be required soon.
  10. I think pretty much everyone on here felt it was a daft decision when it was first announced.
  11. Great comeback from Crane. They took 31 off his first 2 overs...now he's 2 for 45 off 6 overs. he does look like he can turn it a fair distance.
  12. We win 8 games, Sussex win 7 and they come above us. Surely wins trumps no results. We've been skanked again!
  13. Okay this could get awkward for me! I still stand by my Wheater comment though.
  14. Oh we won't win this. I still can't believe that sweep first ball. If I was Carberry i'd be thinking whats the point. Bates must be ****ing himself.
  15. Wheater needs shooting for that reverse sweep. Totally killed the momentum we had built up. Terrible decision making
  16. i have no idea if they are in meltdown, but they're is bit of a worrying trend at the club. Couple of years ago David Balcombe went out on loan did amazingly, came back and his form withered away. Matt Coles was doing really well for us and then leaves due to the fact the club aren't happy with him and Dawson goes out on loan scores 99 and now he's back. To the outsider it is starting to look like there is something not quite right within the club. Anyone got any info on Wheater?
  17. Wheater out for personal reasons. McManus and Crane playing.
  18. Dawson recalled from Essex. Is this with a view of playing him in the must win Somerset 20-20 game?
  19. Ok I get that we are all going to say ,'Good, wouldn't want him back'..but the fact that he doesn't want to come back kind of concerns me.
  20. Cheers for the update Weston. Must be close to make or break for Terry he's 23 now.Sounds like Briggs had a good game too. Have to keep Wheater at number 3. I may be tempted to bat him higher in four day as well but i'm not sure.
  21. Blimey we've all had a bit of a moan the last few days, we get a win...and no one mentions it! Well done Mason Crane 2-34. Not a bad first couple of scalps either. I wonder will they be tempted to throw him in the next 4 dat game?
  22. Never heard of Satti?, what does he do?
  23. Blimey there's some smug **** right there!
  24. Maybye not a disaster..who knows. Briggs 20 overs for 30 runs suggests it may be a bit of a stodgy wicket, possibly another game Dawson would have been handy?
  25. 39-3. Bird on fire. I will say although we have played like drains this year, we haven't always had the luck. We always seem to be the team having to bat after a rain break and bowl in 80 degrees. Maybe the luck could be with us today.
