But as shurlock pointed out above Everton don't pay much more than saints so money isn't the only deciding factor at play here. -
Could well do its a pretty big deal in youth football I believe.

I see Saints have their under 15 boys competing in this years Milk cup junior section, over in Ireland, not much info but the boys won their first game Zacatepec 0-3 Southampton and they have more fixtures coming up Southampton v Co. Londonderry (today) Southampton v OC Blues (tomorrow) http://www.newsletter.co.uk/sport/football/football-dale-farm-milk-cup-results-fixtures-1-6870344 Interesting to see how the boys do might even be one or two future first team players in the under15s.

Dutch defender has chance to develop under the coaching of the greatest Dutch defender to ever play for his country or be coached by some Spanish guy who is renowned for having teams with defences leaker than a colander and learnt his trade playing in the English lower leagues. I think the Koeman Factor could well come into play here if we are interested in VVD -

insightful as always good work fella -
Saw this, clearly a bit of fun, but nice to be top of the league http://www.thehardtackle.com/2015/survey-reveals-manchester-united-chelsea-fc-as-most-hated-premier-league-clubs/ thought this was amusing The poll, which first asks the voter to reveal which club they support, says that fans of Everton and Manchester United are the most frequent in terms of disliking Liverpool, with Southampton fans third. That is, unsurprising given the number of players Liverpool FC have been signing from St. Mary’s.

There were 16 million reasons I would imagine. I think there was a rumour we had enquired about bring in him back on loan because he clearly isn't going to see much game time at Arsenal. He reportedly declined and wanted to stay and fight for a place in the Arsenal team (fair play to him for that).
-
I thought he had already said no thanks on that basis it doesn't seem likely. Did he feature in Arsenal's mini tournament thingy over the weekend?
-
My bad
-
I thought they did? I know the online system has stopped me buying tickets that would leave odd seats before now.

OS has it at 8.05 kick off http://tickets.saintsfc.co.uk/PagesPublic/ProductBrowse/productHome.aspx

Full first team with Pelle leading the line at home, win 6-0, and then rest most of the first team on the away leg. Play J-rod, Long and Juanmi on the away leg as a counter attack team to get the away goal Follow up with a fully rested first 11 (ish) to hump Newcastle...........If Carlsberg did Europa league games:D

So maybe he is off to Everton? I would have thought if saints were really interested we would have heard more noise in the press but other than a few tenuous gossip articles in the papers there hasn't been much noise about us wanting VVD. -

fair enough but I don't see why we should limit it to the prem to show Alpine is a tit. We've signed decent centre backs for our level ever since the take over Radhi Jaïdi and Jose were a great signings when we were in league one (hell even Aaron Martian was a decent league one CB). Jos was a great signing in the championship and Lovern and Toby were great signings in the PL CBs really haven't been an issue the last few seasons. -

There hasn't really been a lot of stories linking us with him this summer that I've seen but that shouldn't stop people having a melt down.? -

Football cliches at the ready "it's always been my dream to play in the europa league" "playing for Southampton is the quickest way to get into Liverpool's first team" -
Funny how we all see games differently I thought Targett was excellent last night.

Apparently not fit enough to play stayed at home to work on it
