  1. Can you tell me why the government has REFUSED to carry out an audit on the cost of our pensions please dune? Thanks for your support in this matter because I really must get going.
  2. Can you tell me why the Conservative led government REFUSE to carry out an audit on the cost of these pensions? Thanks. I'll try to post pictures of the well supported (in attendance and in public support - see the lastest BBC poll) strike action in Essex today if I get round to going to Chelmsford dune, but I have a feeling that I'll probably stay in Colchester for the march there. Also, saw a very nasty survey on Sky News today that support for the government is falling at an alarming rate; people seeing the strike as the ****servaties fault eh?
  3. Can you tell me why the government have REFUSED to carry out an audit on public sector pensions? Thanks. Anyway, off to Colchester I go - "Unity is Strength!"
  4. Urgh. Good to bounce back after Saturday.
  5. Isn't Aldi bang within your price range? Don't bite the hand that feeds you, not in this dog-eat-dog capitalist utopia we live in.
  6. His attitude towards The City is everything that is wrong with capitalism.
  7. The point I think he is trying to make is that in an office-type private sector job you are 'done' at 68. Teaching is such an emotional, mental and physical strain that staff are more often than not done by '55'. Now I'm not suggesting we should retire at 55 before dunce et al jump in, I'm simply saying expecting us to keep up the same energy levels that late in to life is ridiculous. You are on stage for 6 hours a days at full throttle and if you slip up and have a bad hour you are eaten alive. It is only before and after the day that you get to sit down and do administrative work. Are the Thatcherites out there able to tell me yet why the government has REFUSED to carry out an audit on the cost of these pensions? Helllooooo?
  8. ...and if they didn't **** it up the wall on speculative gambles then we wouldn't be in this mess. I'm afraid it is all swings and roundabouts. Haven't we alreday established that your wife/girlfriend isn't representative? The fact that she isn't going on a demo tomorrow already demonstrates to me that she doesn't give one shiny ****e about the cause. If she isn't convinced enough to protest she should be in work. For me it is a political/ideological/financial decision to strike tomorrow. Anyone who either doesn't understand the issue or doesn't really care about it should go into work - much like my fiance, the English teacher, who is in work tomorrow along with about 15 others who are nor striking for various reasons.
  9. I must admit, I was surpised when I saw we were getting any rise whatsoever. I would happily take another two year pay freeze (so in total 4 years) if it meant out pensions were secured. Once again however I'll raise this point: Can any of the die-hard Tories on here explain to me why their government REFUSES POINT BLANK to carry out another audit on the affordability of these pensions?
  10. No, I'll just go around shouting "I am ****ing great, stop being ****s!"
  11. Course not! A lot of the work I do I don't get paid for, so they're certainly not going to pay me when I do a bit of extra work when on strike.
  12. This. Im marking year 11 controlled assessment (coursework in old money) after demonstrating.
  13. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-15910621 Oh dear, isn't that a turn up eh?
  14. If you expect me to believe that there was man walking around during the days of the Roman Empire healing disabled people and turning water into wine then my friend you are more of prat than dune.
  15. Until I see a historian of the same standing as AJP Taylor etc stating that the Bible is a reliable historical document, I shall retain my correct judgement that it is a load of ******** Mr.HND.
  16. Is this dune's missus? http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-15923875 Thankfully this racist scum is now off our streets.
  17. This. I do feel sorry for these poor unfortunate souls who were frog-marched into their private sector jobs. Not even having the option in to looking at working in the public sector when the benefits are there for all to see must have been horrible. You have my deepest sympathies.
  18. Even the Tories themselves back the strike now! http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-15909788
  19. Anyone who does anything like that while their on strike needs to have a look at themselves and question if they should even be striking; if you truely believed in the reason behind the strike you would go and march/demonstrate (much like I am in Colchester - ain't I the uber unionist). Striking should not be seen as an excuse to just have a day off nor should it be taken lightly. People who see it as a 'day off' either don't take their job very seriously in the first place or the financial implications of going on strike doesn't have much of an effect on them. Also, those who are moaning about the cost of teacher's pensions should ask themselves why the government REFUSE to carry out another audit on their cost to the public purse. My gut feeling is that we can obviously afford our pensions but that the Tories are using these tough economic times ™ as a cover for a politically motivated move against the public sector. Why would they refuse to carry out another audit if they were telling the truth? I'm not sure if I believe though that that the Tories could be that disgustingly dastardly... Oh and FWIW, the English teacher missus isn't striking as she is due to have all year 10 and 11 classes on Wednesday.
  20. Well quite, and as I expected, you're totally naive (naive may be a bit generious actually) for believing ANYTHING that is printed in the Bible, let alone believing in a God. You should pick up a KS2 science textbook some time and fill your little mind with FACT instead of picking up a Bible and filling your head with FICTION.
  21. Far too much responsibility.
  22. No. I still sit in the corner of the room and rock back and forth most break or lunch times.
  23. The man is a joke.
  24. After reading 'A life too short' (a book documenting the life of Robert Enke the German international goalkeeper who comitted suicide) it makes you wonder if football is doing enough (if anything at all) to help players/managers etc who suffer from this terrible illness.
