I like this bit in the Snooze Anybody wishing to swap seats are advised to contact the ticket office 48 hours prior to the match. Alternatively just roll up to the ground at kick off time, and take your pick from the array of available seets.

Health food shops are the place to start. Little tip I've been given but have yet to try - about 4 days before bottling sprinkle bits of egg shell over the top. It gradually sinks and captures any sediment on it's way down. As long as you don't then disturb the bottom you'll get nice clear beer, but make sure you don't get egg shell in the bottle (obviously)

Pompey don't pay VAT!

Ho, not everyone will be able to explain it to you, but you need it explained as you are COMPLETELY WRONG. Blue Star Garages had ceased to exist as any kind of company in the eighties - Martin's father had asset stripped a once proud company and flogged it to Amoco. The name lived on and was the holding company of Queens Park Rangers. Now, you went into Admin because you could not generate enough revenue from your couple of thousand fans to cover your costs, and then decided to borrow to meet them, which you then couldn't pay back. The rot started with Jim, and Martin couldn't think of anymore tricks to get out of the hole. Ultimately it comes down to your owners thinking the club is bigger than the amount of fans it has. Get over it - spend within your means and noone will have a problem with you. Carry on cheating and trying to change history on the other hand.....

Couldn't agree more - I was there and ought to know. However, 1 making the noise is 1 too many, and given it was in excess of 100 makes it pretty awful. When you add in at Alan Knights testimonial (when Saints fans were paying money to one of their own!) the coins being thrown at us and the mob waiting for over an hour to try and cause a riot tends not to paint the fan base in a very good light at all! Of course the majority are good fans, but they do seem to have a disproportional amount who wear Burberry.....
-
No Ho, Jim had set all the wheels in motion - it was he who sold Blue Star to Amoco having already sold off thr profitable parts. You saw Martin struggling to play a really sh!t hane his father left him. I'm not defending Martin, but the start of your problems were with Jim - just look at the incestuous realtionship you had with QPR. Didn't he sell to Venables, remind me of the clubs he had connections to in London that start with a Q?

You could not be more wrong mack rill. My dad worked for JIM Gregory when he owned Blue Star garages, and he'll confirm thay all Gregory did was asset strip a blue chip company, and that's what he started to do with the Blue Company. You're rose tinted specs probably don't let you see that whilst he owned Poorsmouth, he was also breaking the rules about ownership as QPR at the time was owned by Blue Star Ltd (see the connection?). All this led my dad to disown anything to do with Gregory and that included the poor excuse of a football club. You have a history of being owned by people looking to only line their own pockets, and most have been quite unsavoury.

Is it because you can't report on something that doesn't exist?

Bought quite a few cars their and never had a problem. There was a simple rule - if it looks to good to be true it is! Had one that I paid £2k for and 9 months later some idiot ran into the back of it and wrote it off - insurance company paid out £3.5k - KERCHING!

you cant dial an 0845 number from abroad, so all companies that use them generally have a normal landline number you can dial. As calls from abroad are expensive they are usually prioritised and you don't usually get a press 1 for this mumbo jumbo. It's worth finding these numbers and then saying you are abroad (but a good idea to withold your number otherwise they might know you are telling porkies).

The pint that eveyone is missing it that the players will always go to whoever pays the most because even if that club starts to go to the wall they immediately become free agents once their monthly salary hasn't been paid on time (not sure how many months but you get the jist!) - so I'll take this extra money and as soon as you start to struggle I'll go and take that lower offer from the other club - kerching!

The Official Summer Transfers and HCDAJFU Thread
Chopper71 replied to supersonic's topic in The Saints
Luke Varney - bet then it is on betfair so probably not happening.... -
What odds can you get on Saints selling more season tickets that Pompey's average gate for the coming season. Saints have sold over 13k, and Poorpy might manage 13 in total (including stewards).
-
Didn't I read earlier that the high court closes for it's summer holidays until about October?

When were Pompey formed again?

This might actually be a good thing. If the CVA had been rejected AA would have very quickly needed to come up with an alternative / might have been booted out and someone come in and do a proper job. This way he'll plod along for 4 more weeks hoping he's out of the woods only to to see a forest spring up around him - that's a waste of 4 weeks and a whole lot more cost that they don't have. Even IF it goes through in 28 days time, the whole plan revolves around being able to sell enough players to generate enough cash, which isn't going to happen - then he'll be in breach of the CVA and we'll start all over again - and the FL do not like you not maintaining payments agreed under a CVA.....ask Swindon
-
No, he is solely responsible for maximising the return to the creditors - it might be that creating a viable business does that but if it doesn't he will be duty bound to ask for the company to be wound up. Of course a viable business needs customers - luckily they have the createst fans in the world TM, of which about 1k have bought a season tickect.

Basically, until Cortese says something then there is no truth in it.
-
Even if you gave them the 9 points back, their prize money couldn't have been any higher..
-
I guess the only benefit to FL clubs is that is a relegated club immediately regains promotion to the PL the remaining parachute money is shared amongst FL clubs.
-
NO NO NO! If they are 15 points adrift it will mean they managed to make up 2 points on their rivals and I can't see that happening. Suspect 27 points adrift to be more realistic!
-
Did you ever go shoplifting in the newsagents on St James' Road? I caught a few!
-
Yes, when the fixtures are announced on 17 June. What chance Saints make the play offs, win them, and then on the first day go 20 points above the CHEATS?!
-
Or maybe Rupert Lowe is looking for another reverse takeover?
-
Given it's april 1st tomorrow, I think we should all see which rumour we can make up for them down the road to fall for. No what mega rich owners do you think could 'come to their rescue....'
