Simple question: Has the power gone to Cortese's head? He was appointed by ML to do a job. While ML was alive, he had to do that job under the sure and steady gaze of ML. Now things have changed. ML is dead. Are we now beginning to see Cortese's true stripes? Cortese has obviously ingratiated himself with the new owners, ML's family. But do they have as much influence over him as ML did? It is becoming quite apparent that Cortese is a lose canon. He has no one lined up to fill the hole which he petulantly created when he sacked Pardew. Yet again our club is being dominated by a suited egotistical man. Comparisons to Rupert Lowe are not completely without merit. Lowe had no idea what he was doing, nor does Cortese. I will be the first to eat humble pie if Cortese pulls a rabbit out the hat before the next home game with a big name as out manager. If he doesn't then he is in the same waffle league as other suited idiots.

My post game reaction: There is a reason that Manchester United is Consistently Good At Playing Football. It is because one man has overseen that club for long enough for a real winning mentality to set in. No club will ever progress unless there is stability in: a) The board room b) The 'locker' room. Love them, hate them; but you can not disagree, Manchester United - arguably the greatest football club in the world for the the last two decades - did not happen upon that greatness by accident. They had one man in charge, one way of doing things. And that is why they have achieved greatness. Cutting and changing managers is a fool's game. It is nothing more than boardroom venality. I long for a time when we can have a manager who stays with us. Is allowed to stay. No manager arrives at a club with all the tools to do the job; but give him and the TEAM time and they will fuse. Just back from the game. What a ****ing shambles. From start to finish we we're just plain bad. There is no excuse. None. Today's performance was utter crap. Utter, utter crap. Their heads were down and their spirits too. Individually they might have cared about the game, but collectively they clearly didn't.
