Dear oh dear, what a ****poor, weak argument. You can only beat what's put in front of you e.g. Man U on their own patch. You only beat them on a neutral ground, and even then, it was only because Stevie Wonder was the linesman. As usual it's the convenient glossing over the other F.A. cup win, two top flight titles, plus a second division title and a third division title. You simply cannot compete on honours- we blow you out of the water fair and square whichever way you look at it, hence you continually bleat on about attendance figures- as if anyone gives a stuff about that compared to a clubs success. A single major trophy in 124 years- not a very good record is it?

I used to buy all my mini cooper bits from a supplier in Barnet. Don't think he ever tried to buy a football club? Trouble is, all these figures pointing to doom and gloom are virtually all guesswork. Add the fact that journo's have nothing to write about until players start drifting back from holiday, and that some of those stories are written by bitter and twisted Newcastle fans like Sean Custis writing bull**** 'Pompeygate xx' stories just to fill some space, and you end up with a bunch of half truths at best. I've no doubt that Gaydamak like many business people has been feeling the pinch and has been shipping out high earners to try to balance the books. It might well be that Al Fahim isn't as well off as The Cranemeister, but I'm prepared to give the guy a chance before throwing my ST in the bin. Realistically, I don't have a choice do I? Yes to a degree, but we're just not sure about anything at the moment. It's the age old adage of 'we're the last to know'. You do have the advantage of the new ground in place, but it almost bankrupted you and has led directly to the third division. You'll probably come back, it's just a case of how long is it going to take? No-one knows, all we can really do is sit and watch what happens :confused:

No I agree absolutely. Overall, there's not a great deal between us one way or the other. I think we shade it, you guys think you shade it. Don't suppose we're ever likely to agree on this one :cool:

I don't blame anyone- we went for it, won the F.A. cup, and it's been brilliant. If it goes tits up tomorrow, (which it won't) we'll STILL have an AFC Portsmouth or something similar......

Absolutely, because anything other than the WHOLE story is merely selective. Mind you, the only way you can cling to a few crumbs of comfort from the third division is to be selective- you can't talk about honours, because we blow you away on that one, you can't talk about highest gate because we blow you out of the water on that one too (and any bleating about not having the capacity at 'the skip' is your own fault for not having the ambition to build a ground big enough), and you can't talk about overall attendance since we beat you on that one also. You can try to say you're the bigger club, but you're not. You're a third division club with a bigish ground that put you in the third division and that's all. I go back to a point I've made several times on here that is very seldom replied to (strangely enough) which is to settle the argument by asking people within the game and those who write about it what they think? Like I've said before, sorry, but you won't like the answer. Lots of abuse and not many facts incoming methinks.....

Yeah, overall for most of us he IS a legend. Got us up, kept us up, went to you, took you down, came back, kept us up again, won us another major trophy. Most of us see that as more positives than negatives I think

But your whole argument falls apart yet again when you are selective. "In the last fifty years" is meaningless as you were above us for 40 of those 50. Try the same stat since records began, i.e. the WHOLE story. Different story then, not by much, but a different story. Hence it's never quoted, surprise surprise......
