Doesn't it undermine Boro's case that they caught the 'spy' so presumably would have then changed anything they think would have been seen? So their actual loss is the inconvenience of having to do that and potentially not being able to play in exactly the way they might have intended. So if they want to base any punishment on the degree of their loss then that is the sum of it. Surely having known in advance means they can't claim they lost because of it in the same way they might have been able to if they hadn't found out about it until afterwards?
