  1. No excuse not to get p*ssed up whatever time the game starts, have a few at home or on the train or get some special brew and drink it in the park.

They could kick off at 7am for all I care, I'll still be on the beers before hand!

    What he said

See you all there! Mmm, lovely beer.

The game winning kick. I could watch it 100 times.

The highlights of the game with local radio calls. I used to listen to Jim and Hokie every week before we got decent tv coverage. The call of Brian Milne's fumble recovery from Hakim in 2000 was good enough, but this guys voice when Hartley kicks the field goal is unbelieveable.

  3. Woot go Minnesota. Also what is the point of the kick after the touchdown? Do they ever actually miss?

Occasionally. Also, you can go for 2-points by trying to score another touchdown with a one-off play.

  4. Then why not just pack your team with the biggest blokes you can find and injure the opposition quarterback every game? Hate the stop start nature of it as well and all the commercial breaks. Makes it hard to get excited. I imagine it would be slightly better if you were actually at a game.

Because the very large men aren't quick enough to get to the quarterback. And if you just had large people then you'd just get quick wide receivers and throw the ball past them and they couldn't react.

As for stop-start, the game doesn't flow. It isn't supposed to, it's highly tactical. And the commercials, well that is just the US, sadly.

  5. It's all part of getting pressure on the quarterback. It's a man's game, not a big sissies game. The Vikings offensive line should just try blocking.

p.s. this better be a Touchdown!

  6. Indeed. It is a fortnight to the Superbowl.

Defensive players can still hit the QB if their momentum is taking them towards him when the qb releases the ball, although you are supposed not to hit so aggressively if you know the ball has gone.
