Awful cross by Redmond. FFS!
-
Just need “badly scuffed shot straight to keeper” and “lose ball by running straight into defender then turning around and moaning at a team mate” for a full house.
-
Maybe we should just forfeit our corners. If we lose the ball they are looking to break at speed in numbers.
-
Effort Djenepo, looked like it would have curled in.

First challenge gets a yellow. Great...

Instructions unclear. Just took a shit in my Ferrari...

Just Ralph being Ralph. Trying to be a super tactician, putting together a foolproof prof plan to beat West Ham. That'll all be out the window the moment one if our CBs dozes off or McC forgets to come for a cross. WHU unchanged so international players don’t necessarily need all this rest...

Another head scratcher from RH. Redders up top. I guess he’s resting the international strikers Adams and Broja. I’m worried KWP is going to lose patience with being benched.
-
Plus no one would pick out his diagonal runs...

Ahhhh Hungarian piss! Just like Stella!
-
Declan Rice appeared to pretend to drink from a cup that was thrown. No sure I'd have done that (due to covid and that it was probably full of piss when it was thrown).

Wolves upset that Man U didn’t kick ball out. But why should they, no foul, Neves had about the slowest reaction to being hurt, wasn’t a head injury. Teams are trying to win games and not be nice and make friends.

I feel that all 3 games have been enjoyable to watch from a Saints perspective. We’re at least trying to move the ball and score. Yes we’ve conceded a few poor goals (perhaps due to attacking in numbers, perhaps not). Last season after the Liverpool win I felt we didn’t have that belief and were very ponderous and still gave up some shocking goals. Hopefully we can get a win on the board soon. It’s about time we caught WHU on a bad day.

If he didn’t fancy a shot he could have just taped it to Adams for an open goal. Headless chicken!
-
Agreed. We were expecting the very worst with these first 5 fixtures. Two draws is decent vs teams we usually lose to in those fixtures (yes I know MLG).
-
Thanks! So us, Norwich and Brentford should all be either considered a bit unlucky or ruing missed chances today. I guess the stat can’t distinguish between being unlucky and missing a sitter?
-
Ah ok cool. Then it’s a very useful stat IMO. Far better than shots on because you could have a few scuffers count as on when they were never gong in and the other team hit a post or two.
-
Got it. So how do they decide, is this objective or subjective?
-
So we should have has at least 3 goals and Newcastle 1? But Newcastle got 2 so are they saying one of them should have been scored?
-
Can anyone explain to me what that means? I can guess but I’m not too sure.
-
McCarthy was decent today. Two very good saves and came and comfortably collected a few crosses.
-
Yep. #1 surging run by Romeu who couldn’t decide what to do, shot blocked but no one was covering for him and Newcastle broke. JWP should have won the ball but shirked a 60/40. #2 Diallo ended up wide on the right, tried a pass into the box, straight to them, break and again no one switched on enough to notice a DCM is out of position and to go cover the break.
-
That penalty flying in felt so good. Felt JWP had a bit of an off day but that was pure class.

And breathe. With the emotions of the game now over. I’m encouraged by a lot of things Saints are doing but concerned about others. We attack well but need to be better when we lose the ball. Both goals against came from us really going for it but then not being able to track back and regroup quickly enough. It’s a tough one because we want to get players into the box and attack but the lack of pace of Romeu and Stephens means they get caught between trying to tackle and trying to get back and good teams will punish us severely if we remain that open.

Feels like a win. Two valuable points saved.
