Come on Saints! MLG and Turkish notes: this statement isn’t to be taken literally but is my rallying cry for the team I support to play well and win.
-
I like him and appreciate what he’s done for us over the years. He wasn’t very good in the Fulham game (I guess “gash” was a little harsh, sorry Shane) but I think it highlights how badly we need replacements. I wonder what happened to Obafemi, he was the hero in our game just one year ago.
-
No. I’m only on holiday. I’m a teacher in what is the equivalent of sixth form here. It’s been an exhausting semester so I’m just relaxing and letting off a bit of steam. Apologies to the Shane Long fans, I’m sure he’s a nice man but I think he’d be better suited in the Championship.

I’m like the Shane Long of Saintsweb, I’m fast and put in a lot of effort...
-
Shane Long was utter gash. He barely got near the ball and when he did he fell over trying to con the referee. He’s not EPL quality and shouldn’t be anywhere near our matchday squad. This “his effort level” excuse doesn’t cut it, he didn’t show any more effort than anyone else on the pitch. The only reason he got the nod is because Ralph doesn’t trust the young lads and for whatever reason Obafemi has regressed and is not in Ralph’s plans right now.
-
Not buying it. I don’t trust anyone who doesn’t know when to use an apostrophe or not.
-
That’s a great result for us! MLG and Turkish notes: This is based on nothing other than my opinion and I have not consulted the historical statistics for all the relevant fixtures, climate, nutritional requirements of the players, or even the demographics of their upbringings. Thank you.
-
It seems MLG has been hoist by his own petard...
-
Oh no, was I being pedantic? Annoying isn’t it? Anyway...
-
Yeah it’s been terrible. Fancy me hoping that Djenepo could be half as good as Mané. Thank you for taking time from your busy day to set me straight. We’re lucky to have fans of your caliber posting on this site.
-
Both those teams have sold players this season.
-
Which two?
-
Yes, I’m furious that we have a player equal to Mané that we keep on the bench until there’s 30 seconds left.
-
Looks like Turkish bot got an MLG v3.7 update for Christmas...
-
Yes, how stupid of me. I forgot that the two players were cosmically linked and only score against identical opponents.
-
Great, I look forward to a welcome 3 points. Thanks!
-
Recent history I guess. Last season: L L W (vs us at St Mary’s) L L then later in season L L W (vs us at Olympic Stadium) L L.
-
Great, I look forward to seeing all his goals against our next opponents West Ham United.
-
Jesus, if only Djenepo was half the player Mane is. We’d have so much more threat from that left hand side.
-
West Ham looked like total shit today. No doubt they’ll be an entirely different prospect full of energy and creativity when we face them.
-
I guess what people are failing to grasp is that it’s not moaning it’s frustration that we’ve pissed away another 2 points. We should have beaten Arsenal, missed chances vs Wolves, lost 2 points today. We could be in a really good position in the table but annoyingly we’re dropping further down with each game.
-
Absolutely. Anyone saying otherwise is just desperately trying to look like a level headed football expert but failing...badly.
-
Yep, clear as day deliberately moved his arm to deflect the ball. I swear some on here like to play the contrarian because they think it makes them look special. I’d have had no complaints if one of ours had done that and the ref pointed at the spot.
-
That’s the trouble, refs have cottoned on. Big team they give it and then let VAR correct any mistakes (they are scared of getting crucified). Small team and they don’t give it and they let VAR correct a mistake. The problem is this “clear and obvious” bullshit. It means big teams get decisions that the smaller teams don’t. Utterly corrupt EPL trying to protect their product.

Get Walcott alongside Adams, he does better when he doesn’t have time to think (case in point his finish from Adams’ pass). In midfield he can’t make his mind up and holds on to the ball too much, he passing up good chances to thread a pass or shoot.
