Trouble is that this scenario happens much too often.

I’m cooling off a bit but **** we don’t seem to have learned a thing from last year. You look at other teams and wonder why Saints can’t do the same. BHA, three away goals today, Billy Sharp rescuing Sheffield Utd, Villa score at Spurs. Saints would be great if possession of the ball in the middle third was worth points. We seem to be utterly lacking in both the attacking and defensive thirds. Game in game out, even when we win we never do it comfortably.

Yeah, I think we ****ed that up. Should have tried to reintegrate him into the team. Him being frozen out doesn’t help anyone, we still have to pay him.

It’s like ****ing Groundhog Day. Was hoping it’d be a bit different this season. Pool game is a right off. Hope we will be much improved for BHA but judging from their goals today they are a long ball team too. Great goal by Maupay today.

Just seen the goals again, Vestergaard needs to sit after that performance, wow. Bertrand shocking too. Wtf are we going to do vs Liverpool?

Billy Sharp scored for Sheffield Utd. Could to with a finisher like that, our boys get into the final third and then panic. Panicky defence and a light midfield adds up to another hugely frustrating day at the office. When will we learn. I like Redmond but boy does he make some poor decisions, hold on way too long and then passes when a shooting chance is on. Ings terrible, Gunn had a poor game too, first one through his legs.

The system is probably decent enough but our players are too error prone and/or too thick for it to work. Ings passing to the other team, Redmond not picking out runs and holding on for too long. Clowns at the back either slipping, dozing off or mistiming the ball. Somehow we need Ralph to somehow polish these turds.

We don’t have an ounce of composure when we do get chances, Burnley on the other hand as cool as you like. Just a total panicky shambles from front to back. Awful start to the season.

Dear oh dear. Why bother with 3 CBS if they do that. Weak. Burnley have been atrocious too. Worrying that we’ve still blunt in attack and careless at the back.

Same issue as the last few seasons. Nice and tidy until we get to the point that a final killer pass is needed and we **** it up. Is this just what we get from 10-15M players? Can we expect them to do a Sterling, Silva, TAA or Robertson. Can we expect them to do it once in a while?

I’d withdraw Ings, get Adams up top and introduce Boufal to the game.

Redmond has had a bit of a “didn’t pass when he should have”, and “pass when a shot is on” type of game. Valery was clean in there if he’d released him.
