The system is probably decent enough but our players are too error prone and/or too thick for it to work. Ings passing to the other team, Redmond not picking out runs and holding on for too long. Clowns at the back either slipping, dozing off or mistiming the ball. Somehow we need Ralph to somehow polish these turds.

We don’t have an ounce of composure when we do get chances, Burnley on the other hand as cool as you like. Just a total panicky shambles from front to back. Awful start to the season.

Same issue as the last few seasons. Nice and tidy until we get to the point that a final killer pass is needed and we **** it up. Is this just what we get from 10-15M players? Can we expect them to do a Sterling, Silva, TAA or Robertson. Can we expect them to do it once in a while?

I’d withdraw Ings, get Adams up top and introduce Boufal to the game.

Redmond has had a bit of a “didn’t pass when he should have”, and “pass when a shot is on” type of game. Valery was clean in there if he’d released him.

Adams needs to calm down a little, he’s rushed a few passes and as a result, good moves have broken down.

Some of Saints movement has been sublime, difficult conditions are tough so passes going astray. Burnley just hoofing it.

I think what he means by VAR or not is: Using VAR = no goal (as we witnessed) Not having VAR, Lino flagged = no goal
