John Motson in the Bournemouth crowd. So much better than the big club cloying biased screamers we get now. Never forget him doing the 1998 World Cup finals and the camera panning the crowd to find (Brazilian) Ronaldo’s girlfriend and him saying “there’s the lovely Suzanna, looking beautiful in, what is that? A summer dress, what a beauty!”. Lol.
He looked utterly clueless. Countless times he had the whole wing to bomb down and would just stop and try a left foot sideways pass. Was weird to see after what we were used to having him been a very good Saints player.
Not many games today. Not much action either.
Hmm.
I had a great game last night. Was buzzing and playing like Ralph had been giving me high press instructions all week. Playoffs round one, we won 6-5, scored a beauty too.
Terrible, terrible from Bournemouth. Wtf was that, the defender passed it straight to him.
Mepham, dodged a bullet there. He had an easy clearance and passed it to the oppo on the penalty spot.
We lost but look at this place, we are once again excited by Saints football and full of optimism. Ralph has done a marvellous job. He’s learning too. Was a tough choice, try and shut up shop for a 1-1 or go for it. Glad he went for it at 1-2 too, showed our ambition.
The floaty ball instead of a whipped cross started it off but then JWP tried to blast the ball through two players. The Liverpool header was excellent and then we were in big trouble with Salah and Formino breaking. Tough decision, foul Salah get red, hope we hold on. Hope Salah gets crowded out or misses, cover the pass option to Firmino. Fricken typical that he hasn’t been able to hit a barn door lately and then finishes there.
Typical. Keita’s first goal, Salah’s first since Feb, Henderson’s first in eons.
We can be proud of our boys, pushed them to the limit, took a gamble at 2-1 and it didn’t pay off.
Proud to be a Saints fan!
We’ve played really well, done all we could. Comes down really to having no one better than Long available as a striker. He scored yes, but missed 2 sitters at a crucial time in the game.
