  1. Ah I'd not noticed that the no tackling rule was for real matches. I thought it was just for training. No tackling ?? Well that's just not football really is it .
  2. It's a known fact that European and non European immune systems function differently. Darwinian some might say. Europeans have, on average about 4% Neanderthal DNA that other races don't neccessarily have. Several Lupus (auto-immune reaction) studies have shown that African-Americans (and I suppose African-Europeans) are far more susceptible than Caucasian Americans. The Pasteur Institute published a study in the Cell revue explaining all the why's and wherefores about 4 years ago.
  3. So not like Netto and Leader Price then, they're for the ultra cheapskates. Shocking quality, all grease and sugar.
  4. They're probably dragging their feet because they don't have enough money. Nothing coming in, plenty going out that they can't avoid.
  5. Ah sorry, I don't know a lot about Costco. It 's probably like Netto or Leader Price then.
  6. Well with a majority of about 18 and a packet of softies in her ranks that wasn't an option.
  7. Better. Don't know how they get figure of 3600 £. 2 to the power of 5 is 32.
  8. Perhaps Johnson should have stayed off Common's Work a bit longer, CoVid19 leaves some pretty difficult after effects on occasions.
  9. Exactly, whether it's doing the right thing or realising that it's flogging a dead horse anyway is of no importance whatsoever. He's got a cushy well paid job for 4 and a half years, Leader of H.M Opposition. Might as well pick his battles and hope for a smidgeon of success somewhere down the line.
  10. Not really, school stuff mainly. Rules are still pretty strict and the fines for not following them just as big. But people here are seeming to be making a real effort, leaving space on the tube, wearing their masks etc. Mind you, you don't get on the Tube if you don't have a mask anyway. They hand them out at stations. I'm going to the hairdressers on Wednesday but if you ain't got your mask you don't get a haircut...plain and simple.
  11. What family outings to Costco? Doing that are you Whitey ?
  12. Well they're just idiots. There's no solution, they're determined to do whatever they want, much to their own eventual disadvantage and that of others. Still in 8 weeks we've all learnt to just avoid the idiots haven't we. Failing that the police just need to be handing out those fine sheets like confetti.
  13. Does it really matter what Starmer does or thinks? The government have a working majority of nigh on 100 as Sinn Fein don't sit or vote. The government can do whatever they want. They've said no extension and that is that.
  14. It will take them at least those 3 weeks to be anywhere near ready anyway. Wasn't the 8th cited for an eventual restart?
  15. Wasn't that the West Stand -Milton Corner by the player's tunnel ?
  16. That's right. You have to have a UK address where they can check up on you with the exceptions of travellers from France and Ireland. The debateaable point is whether that applies to travellers just passing through Ireland or France to get round the rule. Then again as train use is restricted in France and you're not supposed to travel more than 100 km from home unless it's for professional reasons or some sort of serious family matter (like funerals, weddings are banned anyway) it's all very complicated.
  17. It's on the BBC site. Everywhere and by all methods of transport except Ireland and France. Probably doesn't apply to trucks and stuff though, doesn't anywhere else but they do sometimes have trouble at borders. We had 3 bus loads of Moldavian tourists stuck at the French-German border last week because the Germans didn't want to let them in. Think they went by another route in the end.
  18. But only by passing through France (or Ireland) apparently. As it stands he couldn't go via Holland or Belgium but I expect that will change because singling out France doesn't make much sense if you've come by car from say Italy or Germany. However there are a lot of UK residents with second homes in the Dordogne and Normandy and that measure is probably for them really.
  19. Don't think that's quite right. He added that the UK's falling infection rate meant introducing quarantine would now be more effective and prevent "reinfection from abroad". The government later clarified the rules would apply not just to air passengers, but also those arriving by other means of travel - such as train or ferry.
  20. That would be pretty handy. Then we could concentrate on getting cricket started because well, it's cricket season. PL Football was due to finish next week-end anyway.
  21. Who knows, depends on what happens in the next week or so. The government kind of advised us against booking any holidays anywhere apart from in our immediate area until further notice.
  22. Is that right that Piqué doesn't want to start playing for at least another month or so? So that would be mid June at the earliest in Spain then, will be pretty hot there then, suppose they'll play in the evenings. Meanwhile back in stately UK it would seem that the players want to have the final say on when (or if) games are played. Some clubs say that they won't force the players to play but one has said that if they don't want to play they won't get paid. Sounds like a right old minefield .
  23. Could he not come to France and then return to the UK ? Don't think we have quarantine for Schengen arrivals.
  24. Best of luck with that then. We're on a sort of deconfinement now but you still need a paper to use the Paris Underground and you can't travel more than 62 miles from home without a very solid reason..ie not a day out or holidays. Most touristy places and beaches are still closed anyway. Next review 2nd June when if we're "sage" we might be able to leave the region we live in. Went to the shop this morning, seemed much calmer and less panicky than last week.
  25. But we still had Channon's testimonial on a Monday straight after the cup win.
