Tidy score, should be enough.

Suspense packed day in our group tomorrow. Hants need to beat Yorks to secure first place, Yorks need to beat Hants to get third place. Kent need to beat Lancs to qualify for the knock-out games, provided that is that Yorks don't beat Hants, and Lancs , like us, need to win their game to go directly into the semis. Weather forecast seems to be neutral, overcast but mainly dry at both grounds. Quite looking forward to the contest myself, if we could stop the short stuff and leg side wides, that would be a bonus.

good win, didn't see all of the game, football at Clermont this afty, good batting at the end though, made quite a difficult target. Still not assured of first place though, Tuesday may be difficult again.
-
Poor all round. Didn't score enough, bowled too short throughout their innings, got hammered by a second teamer, lost. Will need to do much better on Sunday.
-
The Daffs absolutely cruising, chasing just 229. Will need a really big miracle this time.
-
Not getting any better, Donald runs himself out with a stupid single and Middleton leg before.
-
Slow going this morning. Hants put in by Glams and only Gubbins looks at ease, perhaps because he's a lefty. Brown and Prest couldn't seem to score and were out for 2 and 6.
-
Lancs just can't get over losing that final can they ! There was still a bit of residual needle in the game today. I see that Brave cruised to another defeat again this evening. Vince scoring like a tortoise. They probably won't make the knock-out stage.
-
This was discussed a bit during the commentary. The opinion seemed to be that ditching players who got you to the final wouldn't be cricket. Doesn't mean it won't happen though, particularily those who haven't had great success. Maybe Vince or Weatherley for say Donald . Still there a lot of games still to go before any eventual final.

Hants managed to bowl out Lancs for 183 but are seriously struggling to score runs in their turn now. Lancs are using their championship bowling attack I think and our lads look short on technique.
-
Excellent from the young middle order batters. On another note, Brave look like they might struggle again. Vince out first ball and they're chasing about 150 again.
-
Don't see us winning this one. Probably should have batted first.
-
Probably a few more than Hants expected when they asked Derbys to bat first this morning. Getable though, not much in the wicket apart from a bit of bounce with the new ball. Some of the bowling was a bit wayward at times though.
-
Miracle win. Excellent from Campbell, Currie less wayward in his second spell, not at all bad from the part-time spinners.
-
We didn't score anywhere near enough and with the crap bowling I'm seeing this is just a formality for Northants. Currie giving them 2 wides an over.
-
Not so good today. Hants 132/6 after 25 overs. Pitch looks to be shockingly bad, as for the stream , I'd not doubt it if someone told me they are using a 56K dial-up modem.

Ground looks absolutely baked.

Abbott and Barker in the group for tomorrow's match. Holland absent on international duties. Hope they both actually play and don't just fancy a day out on the Isle of Wight.
-
I think that some franchises have had to recrute more county players than originally planned. I've not really studied all the line ups for The Hundred but some of them seem a bit weak to me. The Fire looked like a simple mish-mash of players drawn from localish counties (and nowhere near up to standard to boot). I suppose it's because there are always international series going on somewhere or other in the world, thus reducing the number of players available for gig cricket.
-
Weatherley is with the Brave. All those missing from the regular line ups, Abbott,Barker and Abbas excepted, are in The Hundred .
-
Bit of a scratch side for the One Day Cup match tomorrow. Seems to be a totally devalued competition. Looks like Abbott, Barker and Abbas aren't playing any one day cricket for us this season. Still there's Gubbins, Brown, Holland, Organ and Donald from the regulars plus some of the younger chaps who've played some of the T20 games.
-
Can't see why Fuller would want to drop down to D2 cricket, unless he's figuring on limiting himself to white ball only. That said it would be bad news for Hants if he did. We'd need another all formats allrounder.
-
Ex Hampshire player to boot. Billy Taylor.

Just been reading the BBC report on that game. Seem to think that the two Warks top scorers were victims of iffy umpiring decisions . Don't know who were the umpires but something has to be done about these situations sooner or later. Div 1 Championship games are serious stuff nowadays and what some ex batter or bowler thinks the ball might have done or not done isn't really a judgement criteria. Anyone know what sort of percentages of reviewed decisions are subsequently changed ?

I watched a few overs of the Surrey game after the Hants game had ended. Warks bowlers were all bowling far too short to extremely experienced batters. It was just a free hit every over. Anyway we need to win all the remaining games and get nigh on maximum batting points and hope that Surrey lose one or draw two. Might not happen that way though.
