It will take them at least those 3 weeks to be anywhere near ready anyway. Wasn't the 8th cited for an eventual restart?
-
Wasn't that the West Stand -Milton Corner by the player's tunnel ?

That's right. You have to have a UK address where they can check up on you with the exceptions of travellers from France and Ireland. The debateaable point is whether that applies to travellers just passing through Ireland or France to get round the rule. Then again as train use is restricted in France and you're not supposed to travel more than 100 km from home unless it's for professional reasons or some sort of serious family matter (like funerals, weddings are banned anyway) it's all very complicated.
-
It's on the BBC site. Everywhere and by all methods of transport except Ireland and France. Probably doesn't apply to trucks and stuff though, doesn't anywhere else but they do sometimes have trouble at borders. We had 3 bus loads of Moldavian tourists stuck at the French-German border last week because the Germans didn't want to let them in. Think they went by another route in the end.
-
But only by passing through France (or Ireland) apparently. As it stands he couldn't go via Holland or Belgium but I expect that will change because singling out France doesn't make much sense if you've come by car from say Italy or Germany. However there are a lot of UK residents with second homes in the Dordogne and Normandy and that measure is probably for them really.

Don't think that's quite right. He added that the UK's falling infection rate meant introducing quarantine would now be more effective and prevent "reinfection from abroad". The government later clarified the rules would apply not just to air passengers, but also those arriving by other means of travel - such as train or ferry.
-
That would be pretty handy. Then we could concentrate on getting cricket started because well, it's cricket season. PL Football was due to finish next week-end anyway.
-
Who knows, depends on what happens in the next week or so. The government kind of advised us against booking any holidays anywhere apart from in our immediate area until further notice.
-
Is that right that Piqué doesn't want to start playing for at least another month or so? So that would be mid June at the earliest in Spain then, will be pretty hot there then, suppose they'll play in the evenings. Meanwhile back in stately UK it would seem that the players want to have the final say on when (or if) games are played. Some clubs say that they won't force the players to play but one has said that if they don't want to play they won't get paid. Sounds like a right old minefield .

Could he not come to France and then return to the UK ? Don't think we have quarantine for Schengen arrivals.
-
Best of luck with that then. We're on a sort of deconfinement now but you still need a paper to use the Paris Underground and you can't travel more than 62 miles from home without a very solid reason..ie not a day out or holidays. Most touristy places and beaches are still closed anyway. Next review 2nd June when if we're "sage" we might be able to leave the region we live in. Went to the shop this morning, seemed much calmer and less panicky than last week.

But we still had Channon's testimonial on a Monday straight after the cup win.
-
Probably but as they seem far more resistant than the British perhaps measures will be localised.
-
Yes I read it yesterday, not commenting on the validity of it all, just pointing the way to what Whitey is talking about.

https://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?61783-Coronavirus-Discussion-Thread#.XrgPi0Qza1s Post 2103 or 2106. But Norton gives me a dodgy site warning, didn't yesterday though.
-
Well this was put up on the other thread yesterday. oops dodgy site. Look on the thread on the Saints board if you want to see it.
-
Their position isn't hopelessly bad though and their last 5 results aren't all that bad.
-
Someone put up a text yesterday I believe.

No probably not, but going back to the 60's my parents didn't even consider it because it had a reputation as a Catholic place with friars and the like. Anyway I wanted to go to Taunton's and was respectable enough academically to be accepted.

You'd probably need to look at the polls before the 2016 election to make any real comparison. Clinton was well ahead in a few states that she lost I seem to remember. Trump shouldn't win, he shouldn't have won in 2016 either but at least in 2016 he had an electable opponent. It will all depend on Biden's running mate.
-
I seem to remember that the Portsmouth -Saints game in the Championship had very strict rules applied to it, bubble bus and all that. They couldn't ban the game but they certainly made it difficult enough to go there to watch it.

[ QUOTE=Whitey Grandad;2818714]They are widely spaced in the open air. Probably the safest place in the country. The groups might be spaced but the people in them certainly aren't . Unless of course they all live together anyway which I doubt looking at the number in the group of girls toward the middle. Some more idiots here, protesting against amongst other things 5G, Vaccinations, Bill Gates and the Lockdown. Here in France that would be about 2000 euros in the Nations's much depleted coffers.
-
What extreme measures? You have had it easy in the UK. My neighbours got fined 270 euro for going to the shop together. It's one person per car here and 1 person per family in the shops. I know of others who've been fined for passing a shop on the way to the shop. We've been allowed one hour outside once a day and not more than 1 km from home. Your measures are lightweight and that's why you're not controlling the disease.

Macron (not that I'm a fan) was perfectly clear about it the other day. Le temps d'avant était le temps d'avant and will not return at any time in the near future.
-
Yep, seen that, the beach photos, the idiots cut off at the Old Harry Rock and the anti-lockdown protest near Westminster Bridge. Today is just the first day of three to boot.
