I think it would help massively by bringing in someone like Matt Phillips or Gaston Ramirez as these are players who are used to playing the relevant roles in the 4-3-3 / 4-5-1 formation. They can instantly come in, do their job, without a huge amount of training. This would be highly beneficial to the current crop as the new players natural movement and positioning will give the rest of the team a solid structure and alot of guidance. The transition will take time but nothing better than doing it against some tough teams that will help the team with discipline and keeping the shape.
