  1. Like the incentive scheme that rewarded Poch for finishing 8th at the expense of the FA Cup? That's so 2013 pal.
  2. See Mahrez has signed a new four year deal for Leicester.
  3. The most noticeable change -at least on the basis of Saturday's performance- wasnt the diamond but the emphasis on possession. Very rarely did we lump the ball forward as opposed to play from the back. You can see that being something the club would want to instill through the age ranks.
  4. Juventus? Liverpool used it in the season they almost won the title.
  5. Glasgow. Honest question: what accounts for the recent surge in activity? It's like the halcyon days of 2013 when you we were in your pomp. Are you back love in with the beautiful game (not football, the mboard variety)? What do you make of the fact that Puel doesnt wear a tie?
  6. The lump-it-forward-to-Pelle system worked a treat with the under-9s.
  7. Agree that would make the most sense.
  8. It depends on the opposition. But probably Davis, especially with Bertrand given licence to bomb on. The position requires quite a bit of defensive discipline.
  9. The midfield after JWP went off. Hojberg played slightly on the right. What he did bring was a willingness to carry the ball forward and drive into space, closing the space between the midfield and the forwards. ------------Tadic----------- Davis-----------------------Hojbjerg ------------Romeu----------
  10. Davis doesn't play as an AM in Puel's formation. Tadic does at the tip of the diamond. Davis is one of the outside central midfielders (shuttlers). In a way that suits him better as it places as much emphasis on defending as well as attacking. If there's one criticism its that he's not athletic or physical enough for the role, but he partly compensates for this through his workrate.
  11. Basically saying he might not leave now but leave in the January window, a theory, articulated in the last few days, that is gaining currency.
  12. Interesting thanks. L'equipe is usually on the money and they reported the story only today. Seems like it's just us and Schalke interested in boufal, though Schalke are targeting a different player which would put us in pole position.
  13. Redmond? You mean Mané? You seem a bit flustered pal.
  14. Because unlike you pal, they understand the game and know class when they see it. However promising Redmond is, he's not a patch on Mané.
  15. Odd to talk about the club's resolve being tested if a big offer comes in.
  16. Sure it's not rob brydon?
  17. Is that a recent link? He's been linked before.
  18. Can you tell us or give us a firmer clue who it is?
  19. I actually think he was quite disappointing during the second half of last season. Perhaps it was tiredness. Maybe it's just me but I'd rather have Mané.
  20. Will be interesting to see how sustainable that business model is. We benefitted from a one-off in academy talent while the Manés of this world are still the exception rather than the rule. I can see VVD going for big money, though the going rate isnt the same as it is for attackers. Otherwise most of our players are likely to depreciate or hold their value rather than appreciate.
  21. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, isn't it pal
  22. You still don't get it, do you pal.
  23. This makes no sense: net spend is only trivially related to sustainability. It ignores all the other revenue streams that the club enjoys, notably TV money. Whether a club is run sustainably depends on how these balance with the costs of running the club.
  24. Sterling work. Psychoanalysed by a halfwit pretentiously called Donatello on a football forum. Got to admit that's a first for me, pal
  25. It was clearly a rhetorical question - you've been beating your little drum about money and ambition for months now. You're either completely wet behind the ears and new to football or too busy shooting down a strawman of your own creation.
