  1. Lol, they do have a good record against the other side of Stanley Park though...mind you plenty of cards if memory serves!!
  2. Don't believe that for a minute - where did he say that?
  3. Nah, why do you think Rafa always picks Carra and Gerard for the derby?
  4. Was it a Wednesday night when we played them in the Cup and Beatts scored that pen? Don't recall that being a sellout so anyone who wants a ticket given this year's gates should surely get one?
  5. Playing Lallana, Mills and James is a must. They get this big time.
  6. Mmm, not sure that's a good thing. I mean if someone was going to cuckold me with the missus, at least if he was a Saints fan he would have one redeeming quality...
  7. No, she has an appointment with a gigolo...
  8. We need as many home players in the team as possible who understand the cup and what this means to us!
  9. Yeeeeehaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!
  10. Well, the very idea that Safri could contribute in this league is bonkers. We have some of the best violinists in the league and we need the odd hod-carrier like Wotton. With a five man midfield including Wotton and James, Ipswich did not once look like scoring. Why? Because of their work ethic. Combined with players like Lallana, Holmes and Anotonio, they do the job they are paid for, to instructions not to fans's whims thank the Lord We won, Wotton was a contributing factor in that. What else do you need? You want to change a winning team and suggest the inclusion of a contributing factor to one of the worst teams I have ever had the misfortune to watch!
  11. I guarantee that Paul Wotton has been on the winning side more than the lightweight, tackle shirker that was Youseff Safri - for whom the word bottler could have been invented.
  12. I was at the game we were winning 2-0 until Wotton went off... He does a job. That job is to break up the opponent's play like Makele did for Chelsea. He also played a couple of superb raking balls yesterday but no-one notices of cares because they see only what they want to see. Yes, he's the worst technical player in our team but the manager said he could be important for us, which suggests he knows better than most. People slated Ashley Giles in our Ashes winning team, but without his runs we would never have won the Ashes. Sometimes what someone brings to a team goes unnoticed until you take them away.
  13. I'm not asking you for the lottery numbers next week!
  14. Not who you want but who you think we will get: Me - West Brom away
  15. Could not have put it better.
  16. Good summary in my view. Ipswich are no mugs now under Keane. They came into the game on the back of 3 wins and a draw - having won away at Blackpool an beaten Coventry at home. We're a League One side, 25 games into a total rebuilding job. It was a great result.
  17. Worth remembering that there is no chance he is properly match fit yet after his lay-off. By my reckoning that was a 70-80% matchfit Holmes. He's still got plenty of improvement in him and I've always been a fan. A couple of those cut backs were sublime but just a yard out from where you'd want them - that will come with matches. Solid is how I would describe him today.
  18. Well I was singing it...
  19. Alps, you know I am from the Mcmenemy school. We need violinists and roadsweepers and noone sweeps roads better than players like Wotton, Perry and Thomas, although Thomas decided he could play principal violin as well today. Where the hell did that shot come from?? Cannot wait to see it again on TV!
  20. I believe we should play 4-5-1 full stop. We create chances with that formation and we control the midfield. Even with only one striker, we missed chance after chance with balls cut back from the by-line by Holmes and Antonio. The second half was ours until Wotton and James departed...
  21. Some on here have forgotten that we were the worst team in professional football for ten years, seeing fewer wins than any other team. Now we win and they complain about the 'style' of the win or the fact that we have players like Wotton who have limited ability but do nothing but work hard for THE TEAM. In my view, these dimwits should be taken to the further point of the South coast and asked to keep walking...
  22. His defending towards the end was outstanding, kept his head when he could easily have lost it with five minutes to go and Ipswich all over him!
  23. Lol!
  24. Thank you! They both prove you can have a career through application and determination. It cheeses me off when the guy gets slated after so many hopeless lightweight contributors.
  25. Blood hard working, gives his all in our shirt and had a really good second half before coming off - funny how they broke us down in midfield the minute he went off! Gets a lot of flack from people who expect us to be able to turn out a Gerrard or Lampard. Anyone giving him a hard time tonight is a berk.
