  1. And a big thank you from him (and me) for all the good will, love, support and encouragement. He has just finished his first project and it has helped him be really up-beat and a lot happier. It is unbelievable his turn around in the last few weeks, when I visited Ron in Albuquerque about three weeks ago he was about as low as he could be, but after seeing all your messages, picking up his colours and feeling cared about he has turned it right around!! He joked today "Hey, if/when Tiger's wife leaves him I'm available - and I'll never cheat on her." ;-).......The really ironic thing is (despite being pretty funny coming from Ron) that with the ability that Ron had, if he was a player these days and knocked in 43 goals in a Prem season...he'd be so high paid, famous and iconic he may have a chance of getting her. Another time-another place and lots of 'ifs, 'ands' and 'buts'...but you get my drift tho'.
  2. Interesting topic - wrong forum.
  3. All a matter of taste mate, what about you critical art appraisal of these http://www.giveittoron.co.uk/caricatures.htm Well I guess you wouldn't want one Ron's pieces then and that's fair enough. Let's face it y'average Picasso has 6 t!ts. Just as a quick heads-up it's called a caricature, a rough definition of caricature is = A caricature can refer to a portrait that exaggerates or distorts the essence of a person or thing to create an easily identifiable visual likeness....Is that recognisable as Danny Wallace? Yeah, thought so.
  4. Why was this moved FFS...Saints .v. Tranmere and Ricky Lambert not 'Saints' enough?
  5. Hi Manji...that's an interesting personal attack, what prompted that? Sorry if I have said something to offend you. Seasonal Greetings
  6. LOL, but true...three more words mate 'Richie Lambert'
  7. Saints making hard work of putting Les Parry's boys away - Come on you red and white machiiiiiiiiiiiiiiine!! Why did KD seem like he could just do a whole hell of a lot better during his second spell with Saints? And yet he is crucial, almost unplayable at Bolton...he is in midst of everything good they do going forward.... Scratches head FFS
  8. Just a quick heads-up, Ron has started on his first piece. Someone sent a pretty nice request for their father who has been a huge Ron fan since his was a kid. So let's see how this goes...maybe I could post a shot of it with their approval, so that we can share the quality of Ron's art.

    This is the table and how we did .v. each opponent. (We got shafted on that 'bouncy-ball' plastic pitch at Loftus Road? When we got Joe Jordan next year we reversed the result) P GD Pt Res Res Home Away 1 Liverpool 42 +41 80 W2-0 D1-1 2 Southampton 42 +28 77 3 Nottingham Forest 42 +31 74 L0-1 W1-0 4 Manchester United 42 +30 74 W3-0 L2-3 5 Queens Park Rangers 42 +30 73 D0-0 L0-4 6 Arsenal 42 +14 63 W1-0 D2-2 7 Everton 42 +2 62 W3-1 L0-1 8 Tottenham Hotspur 42 -1 61 W5-0 D0-0 9 West Ham United 42 +5 60 W2-0 W1-0 10 Aston Villa 42 -2 60 D2-2 L0-1 11 Watford 42 -9 57 W1-0 D1-1 12 Ipswich Town 42 -2 53 W3-2 W3-0 13 Sunderland 42 -11 52 D1-1 W2-0 14 Norwich City 42 -1 51 W2-1 L0-1 15 Leicester City 42 -3 51 D2-2 L1-2 16 Luton Town 42 -13 51 W2-1 L1-3 17 West Bromwich Albion 42 -14 51 W1-0 W2-0 18 Stoke City 42 -19 50 W3-1 D1-1 19 Coventry City 42 -20 50 W8-2 D0-0 20 Birmingham City 42 -11 48 W2-1 D0-0 21 Notts County 42 -22 41 L0-2 W3-1 22 Wolverhampton Wndrs 42 -53 29 W1-0 W1-0

We beat the Hammers at home 2-0 and away on Boxing Day 1-0....Like I said Kenny Armstrong, he was Fashanu's ***** that day .v. County, if Wright'd played - we'd've won, simple.

Yeah, a friend of mine Shep was frisked by the old bill (and remember this was over 25 years ago) he several hundred sovs in cash, a dozen large cans of Carlsberg extra, a bottle of voddy and 200 Bensons...the old bemused looking Yorkie rozzer said something like "For Christ sake, you coming for the game or for a week...?"
  12. Two more words mate 'irony'... ;-)

Losing at home to Notts County was pivotable...Chedoze and Justin Fashanu tore KENNY ARMSTRONG up for @rse paper...but we won there on a Thursday night after the rest of the league was over...I think we lost at home to both Nottingham clubs tho'
  14. Two words 'Lambo'....

Thinking about Steve Williams post Alan Ball and Mickey Channon etc got to thinking about Southampton's best ever team/season. In my humble opinion, feel that it was quite clearly the 1983-84 campaign...what do you think about it and what do you think cost us winning one or even both major domestic trophies. Here was our most regular starting XI Shilts Mills, Wright, Ruben, Psycho; Holmes, Williams, Armstrong; Danny W, Frank, Steve Moran: Cannot help believe there were two factors: 1) Huge Frank Worthington fan, however despite enabling Danny and Steve Moran and displaying an enormous array of flicks, touches and supreme technique his contribution was more aesthetic than value-added...just a thought, but if we had managed to pick up some old goalscoring cf (Bob Latchford was available on a 'free') it may have been a good option...even if we had got Big Joe a few months earlier?? 2) We had absolutely no depth, we were quite clearly the best footballing team in the nation...however one, let alone two injuries and we were fuct...do the words Kenny Armstrong mean anything to you? Curtis and the rest were ¢rap also...Big time team - small time club and set-up???
  16. Stevie was Fantastic...but Gerrard and Hoddle score for the fun of it, whereas Williams had a strike rate nearer to say...a Xavi. I feel he was a far more responsible, maybe ever defense oriented half back. The irony being he would have complimented Hoddle 10 times better than 'Butch' Friggin' Wilkins...trouble being we had a certain Bryan Robson also at the time....Steve is exactly what the current England team need...well the SW that played for Saints anyway!
  17. Agree Saints Star - Arsenal Nobody!
  18. Theo = Fantastic + Theo = Fragile
  19. Cannot argue with any of that!
  20. Thanks...
  21. Morning Stalker....depends on your perception of 'freedom', for example over here there is true (legal) 'freedom' of speech...right, wrong or indifferent (and it will be scorned upon) you can say anything you want about anyone irregardless of race, color, sexual preference, religion, ability/disability etc etc as long as it is not libelous or threatening...can you say that back there? Nah, thought not....but then again you do not have the 'freedom' to sell herione, gamble in some places, or have sex with children etc...so I guess you're right to LYFAO
  22. Yeah Bale too....like t!ts on a boar hog - useless!! Richards and Beattie and Richard Hall we had the best out and made good money...not really the same thing tho' as we bought them in the first place...
  23. I'm just thinking if you had a tenner on each of the 4 items it would have been nice and if only one came in it would have covered the others, just imagine if you did a 4-way accumilator - for a tenner you'd have won what?...about 14 million?
  24. Watching Mank Schity right now and Bridger is stinking the place up (yet again)... On that thought, is it just me or did we really get the best out of (at least) this three, get shedloads of dosh for them and then like a Nov 5th firework they kinda fizzled out after their bright starts? Maybe I'm being premature?
  25. On the money mush!!
