  1. I always liked Crouch as a player and he did in some ways remind me of Paulo Wanchope... who equally looked big, gangley and awkward with a ball at his feet but actually had more control over the ball than it appeared.
  2. I would have been the same as a few others on here and waited to see what arose from the ashes in similar fashion to Wimbledon. I love watching football and still wach MOTD for my Premiership fix but I couldn't have the same passion to support any other team outside of Southampton.
  3. They probably looked up the best team on South coast and expected it to be a Premiership team
  4. This isn't the first time this has happened recently and we haven't been listed in some National press either, that's been the case for both fixtures and results. I thought maybe it was because we don't get same attention to detail now being in L1 but then noticed a lot of L2 and Non league fixtures and results were still printed... so none the wiser.
  5. I don't know if it becuase of new ownership, a completely fresh start and a renewed hope for the future of SFC but I feel more encouraged with AP's statements in the last few days than I have with other Manager that have come and gone in the last few years. Without trying to be influenced by some negative comments of AP's chequered past and Pilchards excellent and positive commentary from AP's first training session I actually find myself believing what I hear from the man. Not since WGS have I heard a manager speaking so confidently to the media about their thoughts and what the club needs without thinking to myself that they're only saying these words to try and appease fans and the board. Foe someone who has won championships and managed in the Premiership, AP has not arrived on a swagger with a speeches to raise our expectations for the season ahead. With the few evaluations he has made of the team so far I become more and more confident each day that AP is the right man to take us forward.
  6. I just love watching football, Saints are, and always will be my first love of the game though. When I'm at home I also watch as much as I can on Sky too no matter who is playing. When it comes to Saints and England I have almost the same passion to see England win and feel the same disappointment if we lose. However I do find that amongst people I know who support clubs such as Man Utd, Chelsea, Liverpool, and Arsenal that I find England drawing and losing games easier to take. Not to draw any comparisons for obvious reasons I think that my expectation levels are not as high as those who support a top 4 club who expect and often see a positive result week in and week out. I know I'd like to but as a Saints supporter I still try to keep my feet on the ground and I watch England with the same mentality without being unrealistic of my expectations of the game against the opposition we're playing. And sure, I still get annoyed when we lose against opposition I expected to get a result against but that happens a lot as a Saints supporter when I'm watching them play too. This dosen't mean I'm any less passionate than the most fervent England fan who support a top 4 club but just a little more accepting of the fact we can lose sometimes and more often than not... when you least expect it.
  7. Thats ok, just as long as we don't start dressing badly, blowing bugles and missing half the game to show our support too!
  8. I have to wait for pay day on the 31st before I can get mine, there are probably a few more in my position too, end of the month and beginning of August could see lots more sold I reckon.
  9. It appears the whoever made the costume didn't think much of the guy who was going to be wearing it with the slogan they put on the front of it.
