  1. I'm reknowned for my tact and diplomacy, but a delicate political situation has arisen that cannot be ignored and must be dealt with but i'm having difficulty formulating a battle plan that will achieve all objectives. About 6 weeks ago I purchased a dyson vacum cleaner which meant that I was in posession of 3 vacum cleaners with 1 surplus to requirement. To this end I decided to give the oldest vacum cleaner to my elderly next door neighbour so she could keep it upstairs because she had difficulty lifting her vacum up the stairs. The said vacum was in vgg being less than 2 years old and still had over 4 years of its 6 year guarantee. However I was very hurt when less than a week after giving her the cleaner she informed she had leant it to her son and his wife as theirs had gone wrong. Bearing in mind that said son and wife both have good fulltime jobs and I don't like her son because he's a cadging bastard I was not at all happy. We are now about 6 weeks down the line and he still hasn't brought it back because "he needs to travel 15 miles to a retail park to buy a new one despite living in a fairly large town complete with stores such as currys and argos". this doesn't wash with me and given the sort of person I know he is he has thought "nice one - i've got a free vacum and that's the end of it". WRONG. I'm not having it, but it's a delicate situation because I don't want to fall out with my neighbour. The next time I see him i'm going to have him about it - how should I best tackle the issue to fullfil the missions objectives: 1. Keep the peace with my neighbour. 2.a) Make sure he either brings it back, or 2.b) I Get £50 out of him for it. As a rule i'll do anyone a favour, but in his case if he's to keep it he's not not going to get it dirt cheap out of principle.
  2. Don't be so silly. They just happened to have their subs in situ and have all the logistical necessities available in the area at the time. I think it was more a case of luck.
  3. I'm just making the point that it's good to have a Conservative prime minister that isn't the pet poodle of the Americans. In fact David Cameron even went as far as to make a unsubtle dig directed towards Obama just prior to our sucess at the UN. This would never have happened during the dark years under Labour.
  4. I think 3 points for a win is the main reason for supporters not being very patient. There's far too much focus on the league table now at the expense of focussing on the match. If it was me i'd go back to 2 points for a win and 1 point for a draw and then they'd be less stress about getting the win and we could be happy with a draw.

    Franchise v Posh

Huddersfield aren't that good imo. They have scraped quite a few wins by a single goal and they let slip a two goal lead against 10 man Orient the other week. I can see them dropping more points and don't see them as being much of a threat. Of course we've got to do the business but I think 2nd place is between us and Peterborough.
  6. I agree with the OP. There are a handful of posters on here that whinge and moan during games (some of whom don't even have access to saints player/a radio commentary let alone see the play). It's ridiculous. Take today - we played well in the first half and had Sheff Wed penned in for virtually the whole 45 minutes yet there were moans and groans. Admitedly it wasn't like watching Brazil, but we are in league 1 and league 1 players aren't gonna deliever perfect football very often. It's all about being the better side and winning over 90 minutes and we more often than not do this.
  7. I am particularly pleased that Britain, France and the Lebanon won out at the UN. It should make all of us feel very proud to finally have a prime minister that isn't a poodle. Obama has really shot himself in the foot here and this will ensure he'll be out at the next presidential election thank god.
  8. I thought they were a very poor side. They only had one hope from the game and that was 0-0. They looked league 2 standard to me. If they don't improve they will be relegated.
  9. I'm glad you don't like it.
  10. Although Libya was an Italian posession the French were a major colonial power in North Africa and to this day they have good intelligence of the region and under president Sarkozy we have a right wing leader who is ready to bring the French millitary back into the fold and restore some pride for his country. Also France aren't tied up in other parts of the world so they have the hardware to do this. Also France is close to Libya.
  11. Nice one. We don't want the French and Americans to have all the fun.
  12. Some people are saying that we didn't play well but that's nonsense - it may not have been pretty but we were composed and solid throughout and we made ourselves extremely difficult to play against.
  13. It was brilliant for me in the first half. Not good in the 2nd. But better than nothing.
  14. Dave just saying how we played well in the first half but didn't get rewarded, but made more runs in the 2nd and got what we deserved.
