I think i've just found what i'd like Dune to be changed to....

There was a bloke who was pefrectly fit but had wangled incapacity benifits. My nan used to call him Spring Heeled Jack. I was thinking that if we win this evening and Bournemouth lose then alpine_saint might start getting all positive and put the Kibosh on it (as soon as he complains we usually do well), but I then wondered where this saying came from? I visited the Devils Arse a few years ago ( http://www.peakcavern.co.uk/ ) and on the tour was told how rope making was the occupation of the people who lived there and the saying to make ends meet came from the joining of pieces or rope. Going back to the original question does anyone know the answer and are there any other sayings that we all use but have obscure origins?

I don't like how Spurs sing it - it's toooo slow. IMO OWTS's should be sung at the correct speed - not too fast and not too slow. This is the perfect speed.

I wouldn't take Polls at this stage too seriously. There has been little campaigning and once the main players (Labour and Conservative parties) indicate their stance in a campaign we can take more notice. I'm hoping that both the Labour party and the conservative Party campaign against AV because clearly AV isn't good for either of them, nor is it good for those who want a strong majority government. Despite being a member of UKIP (who are in favour of AV) i'll be voting NO because i'll put my country first and hopefully keep the system that usually gives us strong majority governments.

Exactly. The Hindu and Seikh communities for example wouldn't tolerate such behaviour and they keep their houses in order. Elders in these communities respect Britain and British values.

The 'Nam' veteran who was on trial in my case was accompanied by his wife (sat to those side presumably in the public gallery?) and I felt really sorry for her as she was crying a lot with worry. Was really nice to find him not guilty and I remember after the trial seeing them in a pub near the court which i'd nipped into for a quick pint. I didn't think it appropriate to speak as such so just nodded an acknowlegement and sat away from them.

American with a pony tail (served in Vietnam). He was a landlord and was accused of hitting a 20 something round the head with a maglite. The said 20 something was a right pr1ck and clearly deserved a slap. We all found the defendant not guilty. Was funny as **** seeing his (and his trampy friends/familys) faces. Was also supposed to be sitting on the trial of some animal rights protestors - which would have been a brilliant case - but the CPS withdrew the case at the last minute. I was gutted.
