I think what helped us most was that we were always polite and not smug or condescending, simply going about business cutting through lib and lab policies with the sword of truth. Now that is a good result given the LD's holding up in the South, i expected the win, but wasn't confident and wouldn't have been shocked to see it stay yellow. I have a theory that those in these areas are so rich that unlike most other people they can ignore the big issues like the economy and immigration and instead focus on the wind farms and solar panels and all the other things that ladies that lunch talk about.
