  1. Who's to say that it is us doing the bullying? It may be that other clubs are trying to bully us and we are simpley gholding our ground, which if that means that deals fall through then so be it. I'd rather we didn't not sign player if there are doubts the deal isn't going to be good for us. As I've mentioend before, you only have to look east to see what happens when you get good players on bad deals.
  2. Nixon is positive on it. Reckons that this will not drag on, the fact that Bologna came over here to close the deal is a 'massive step' and suggests that Southampton are still confident of the deal We wait and see
  3. What is wrong with some of you lot? A meltdown just because unconfirmed media reports a transfer is off? Utter madness! If it happens, it happens, great! If not then no dramas I'm sure we have other targets. Personally I'd rather a deal didn't go ahead if it wasn't financially right for us, you only have to take a peek down the M27 to see want the alternative scenario can look like. In any case Alan Nixon seems to think it's still a goer
  4. I wonder if Neil Allen will try to have Portsmouth take credit for him.
  5. Cheats FC looking to sign up yet another player. http://www.fansnetwork.co.uk/football/portsmouth/fb_news.php?storyid=17897 FFS, being competative is not a right, it's a privilege. Many clubs have gone into admin, cut the cloth and as a consequence have become uncompetitive. Given PFC have an existing Default Event I am gobsmacked the FL have allowed them to coninue signing players past the minimum number of 14. When will the FL take a leaf out of the Scottish FL and actually grow a pair?!?
  6. You could see he was genuinely in a lot of pain. No problems seeing him walk off the pitch but it would be a different matter if he'd been able to continue playing. Didn't think much of the atmosphere. I always though Citeh fans were pretty good at creating one, but there were long spells you could hear a pin drop (well that's how it came across on TV anyway). Disappointed to see they've turned into prawn sandwich eating mutes (unitl they scored)
  7. Really proud of that effort! I don't think scoring goals will be an issue for us this season. Keeping them from being scored against us is an altogether different challenge. City dominated large parts of that and we rode our luck at times but we took our chances when they came - well b100dy played lads. Thought Lallana was excellent (he and Rodriguez seemed to work well together) as was Lambert when he came on.
  8. Quite agree but you have to admit the team line up is some what surprising. I think most people view our strongest team with SRL and potentially Davis in it. That said, I'm no manager, I've not seen them train and there's a very good reason Adkins takes his pay packet. COYR, win, lose or draw, do the fans proud
  9. Interesting starting line up..........interesting in the same way as dropping the soap at Parkhurst is.........we're in for one hell of a rogering!
  10. But do they have SRL on their bench?.....
  11. It's what I have alluded to a few pages back. Given the predicted admin costs are running at approximately 10k per day and if, what has been previously mentioned, the PST may take up until Dec to be in a position to make a bid, then that will be a further 1.2m for the trust to find, so either they need to find a further 1,200 mugs or they need to ask existing pledgers to pay nearly double. It certainly looks like the figures may not add up (now where have I heard that before?) December is months away but don't worry, she's already rehearsing in case she's required sooner.........
  12. December???? TB's fees will be over 3m by then, that's an extra 1m+ the trust will have to find.
  13. Surely one concern for the PST is if things drag Birchy fees just keep on building up (what is it, £300k/month?) meaning the PST will need to find more mugs to tip in. On that I wonder how many pledges & £100 deposits have been made by Saints fans with the intention to pull out.
  14. I imagine it'll all be allocated to Birch's fees
  15. ,.......
  16. To quote Blackadder - they're "in the stickiest situation since Sticky the Stick Insect got stuck on a sticky bun"
  17. I think a celebratory beer will be had.....I'll hold off on the celebratory toast until they go pop. If Carlsberg did Karma........
  18. Quite right too. Birch's interests should be with the creditors not the club.
  19. I see the club sponsors have extended their deal - http://www.portsmouthfc.co.uk/LatestNews/news/Jobsite-Extend-Pompey-Deal-3594.aspx I assume it's because Jobsite have done very nicely out of PFC, thank you very much!
  20. Comments from the News -
  21. While I agree with your comments to some extent, I can't bring myself to say 'fair play' to them as they have not chosen to play with what they can afford, it's been imposed on them. Under the embargo they can't sign anyone and will have been liquidated if the high earners had not left so in effect they were forced into living within their means by the rock & the hard place. If they'd done it off their own back, only then IMO will they deserve the 'fair play' congratulations.
  22. Yes please
  23. Wonder if he's now been banned from POL.
  24. Someone needs to tell him it's 125-1 for a very good reason.
  25. I'm really starting to like Steve Claridge
