You dont know Liverpool, it has it ****holes mainly in the East and the North of the City but there are nice areas there are well, Aigburth, Cressington, Woolton, Allerton, Mossley Hill, Childwall, Gateacre, Grassendale and Sefton Park to name a few, on the outskirts there are Ormskirk, Maghull, Formby, Crosby, West Kirby, Heswall, Cronton again I could name many others, the issue is Liverpool has an awful lot to do in it and the local authority has made sure it invests in tourism, Southampton has done jack **** and as a proud ex Sotonian it ****es me off as I have to be honest when asked about my City and it always pains me to say there is nothing really to make people go there at all.

Where did you live in London and how much did your house cost?

Visiting the City? What about tourists? International tourists? Big money, the lack of quality hotels and restaurants gives it away.

I believe I said this about the South Coast the other day and the snobs on here bleated that all the poverty was up North, these were also the tools that said Southampton was a good place to live because of the New Forest.

Really? Its an industry worth £17 Billion, you dont want a slice of that, I think you are talking out of your arse, this is nothing to do with highly skilled jobs (I would always argue for them as well) but the progression of a dour City and providing more jobs for people, thats no bad thing, do you think all the people connected with tourism are on minimum wage and only work in the summer? I suggest you research a bit more.

Not too sure why Sotonians are upset about London being called whatever it may be, it 80 miles away and has nothing to do with us, perhaps its the lack of our own culture we look for others, why not create one, bit too original I suppose.

Tourism brings in billions, you wouldn't want a tourist industry in Southampton on other business models and your morals? How very noble.

Tourists are a good indication of how nice your town/City is.

Southampton City if you are going for looks is as ugly as you will find in a City, it was bombed badly but that not excuse for putting up something worse.

It does tickle me people genuinely think that because we have a Forest to the left of us Southampton are a real desirable place to live, the New Forest is a desirable place to live, Southampton is a working class provincial City with nothing really happening there, its not desirable for the visitor or resindent when compared to other Cities, that does not mean I dont love the place merely I take an honest approach as I have lived in many other places and know whats better and whats worse, its boring and staid.

Yes thats the place, its an amazing place to be and not all parts are like that, whats parts of London like where most people can afford to live? Crap with crap weather, trust me along Collins Avenue and Beach Front is great, the vast majority of London is ****, the outer west is nice but many can not afford to live there, inner London is either a ghetto or so so expensive only Russians and Indians can afford it.

There are far more desirable places in the UK to live than London, London is expensive because of space, its always been that way.

Yes, Liverpool is far better to live than London for the average man, like for like few Cities can match Liverpool to be fair for that, when did you last spend any time up here?

Who regard London as the Worlds number one City, its a World City, its an amazing City but that does not mean its a great City to live unless you have an awful lot of money, people get confused on this issue, far better Cities I have been to than London BUT these Cities dont have what London has Flagstaff Sydney Melbourne Montreal Halifax Miami Beach Liverpool

And I will add I have been saying for years the Cruise capital of the Country has nothing to offer the visitor let alone the resident, a disgrace when you think about it.

They are not far wrong are they, as a City its highly **** and boring, always has been and always will be until someone has the balls to change it.

Christ we have been fortunate today but will well take this, terrific winning mentality even when we are not playing particularly well. Good sign.
