Gaston's made wild claims about his ability?

'Full justice' is subjective. It doesn't necessarily mean somebody's locked up until they die.
-
What rights are the victims and their relatives being deprived of? The ECHR doesn't enshrine the right to see your relative's murderer imprisoned til the day they die.

Good post. Everyone has their personal perspective - and everyone's opinions will be shaped by personal experience, whether they like it or not - but it's strange to consider your own experience representative of broad issues such as these, when you're given hard facts and reliably sourced data.

I'm sure women everywhere appreciate the update. Can't be going round doing as they please without a man's approval! What year do they think it is, 2013?

Because they're human rights, the rights held by all human beings. Young, old, black, white, rich, poor; teachers, doctors, drug-dealers and murderers.

What evidence do you have that this is the case? (Last chance to say something reasonable or I'm leaving this thread)

So you think the majority of the British population are liars? If only a small proportion are honest and tell the whole truth.
-
That's a point actually, where is our negotiating dungeon? And where's that nicely furnished room where they do the press shots for new signings?
-
Considering you believe the Royal Statistical Society are liars, who educated you on such matters and what are their credentials?

This was my first thought.

Bony's signed for Swansea.

I'm going to be bold and guess that you're not a racist and have loads of black friends. Kind of. The Tories don't tell people they're spending more on JSA than pensions or that 31% of the population are immigrants, but the issues are so prevalent in the media that people think they're bigger than they are. And these misperceptions favour the Tories as it helps them to implement legislation. It's easy to cut people's welfare when the public think they're all scroungers who cheat the system!

Are we wasting time going for unrealistic transfer targets ?

I dunno, if we're taking Suarez v Newcastle then has got to be up there in terms of control and technique, as does this. I don't think you can argue that Van Persie was less important to Arsenal than Bale or Suarez are to their clubs at the moment. Everyone's calling United a one-man team now, for goodness' sake! -
People who don't read the news are even worse off, sadly. Reported? When babies are born they are registered with the General Register Office. They archive every birth and death in the UK. Difficult one to get wrong! The report read: "even estimates that attempt to account for illegal immigration suggest a figure closer to 15%." We know these estimates can't be 100% accurate, but do you really think they're out by half? That they've not twigged nine and a half million people are illegal immigrants? You're not supposed to stick the cotton buds that far in your ear, mate.

Surely with European qualification looming they'll want to hold onto their best player for as long as possible?

Robin Van Persie is undoubtedly one of those game-changing players - Arsenal lost him, everyone thought they'd struggle without him and guess what? They still made the Champions League and finished on more points this season than last, when Van Persie was in the form of his life. They didn't even spend masses of money to do it. Spurs and Liverpool could slump without Bale or Suarez but it's no guarantee. A lot of teams prosper when they don't have to rely on one player - Liverpool did at the end of the season and I reckon we might too, if we get a striker in to share the load with Lambert. PS why are Spurshampton playing in a 4-4-2? -

I'd keep Shaw out if Vertonghen's playing left back but he'd compete for a place, sure. Schneiderlin the same - could probably fit in but Dembele and Sandro are tough players to beat. Anyway, let those three in and you're still nowhere close to preferring Saints 'player for player'. Most of our first team would be strong options from the bench for them. If Spurs sell Bale for the huge fees that are being talked about (£60-80m) then I think they're capable of improving without him. You can't replace a player like him but that is so much money, and they've proven with Modric that they can move on without previously vital players. The danger for them is if they sell him late in the window, so they don't have the time to reinvest smartly. For my money I think he'll stay there another season anyway. -
If we buy Damiao, Osvaldo or Carlos kickaball then what happens to Rickie?
DuncanRG replied to Giordano's topic in The Saints
It was establishing a consistent XI that helped us find some form after The Hawthorns last season, especially in defence. Rotation is difficult, only the top clubs do it effectively. -

http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?45536-Damiao-or-similar-top-striker-Lambert-moved-back#.Udv4KW2oNUM You mean all the times the team played badly? Why are you blaming that on the formation when we used the exact same shape in draws and victories? -

Then you are looking at the world through very, very thick fan-glasses. That team is full of top-class players. If I were to make a Saints and Spurs XI, I think Clyne would be the only Saints player in there. We're genuinely nowhere near and any neutral would laugh at you for suggesting otherwise. -
All that would mean is he hasn't signed for anybody else and won't be for another 24 hours. Don't think we need daily updates on this.
-
He's got three years left on his contract - signed a four year one last summer when he moved there. In addition to the many good reasons already mentioned, we attract certain players because we can bring them to England. Benteke's already here and can do much better than us or Villa.
