  1. Ha, must have missed that...
  2. It's hypothetical, but it looks like we are looking to sell 2 to 3 players to more or less 'balance' the books.
  3. I agree it's not ideal, but he has been decent when playing there in the past. I think it's worth trying it, with the fact we have Reeves available as backup if he struggles.
  4. Drmic is a good player - Swiss player who plays for Nurnberg in Germany, 17 goals this season, 21 years old. Not as keen on Davies, I think Marshall and caulker are improvements on what we have in those positions now.
  5. So, I've been thinking (Football Manager stylee) about our starting team for next season. The challenge is to produce a similar side in ability to this season's, but with a net gain of £30m to pay off debts. Here is my attempt: Players Sold: Shaw - £27m Schneiderlin - £14m Osvaldo - £9m Guly - Free Hooiveld - Free Sharp - Free Money in = £50m Wages Saved: Shaw - £18k p/w Schneiderlin - £37k p/w Osvaldo - £35k p/w Guly - £20k p/w Hooiveld - 18k p/w Sharp - £22k p/w Wages Saved = £150k p/w or £7.8m per year Players in: Marshall - £6m Caulker - £8m Drmic - £6m Money Out - £20m Wages in: Marshall - £25k p/w Caulker - £28k p/w Drmic - £25k p/w Total Wages in: £78k p/w or £4.1m per year Team for next Season: GK - Marshall LB - Clyne CB - Caulker CB - Lovren RB - Chambers CM - Wanyama/JWP CM - Cork CM - Davis AML/2nd ST - Ramirez/JRod AM - Lallana ST - Drmic/Lambert Bench: Boruc Yoshida Fonte Wanyama/JWP Ramirez Reed Drmic/Lambert Obviously this is all prior to J Rod coming back, in which it would change, but I actually don't think this team is too much weaker (if at all) than the one we have now. Shaw will be a miss, but I do think he is starting to be slightly over-rated and anywhere upwards of £25m is a deal. Schneiderlin is obviously great, but as JWP will be in that role eventually, and we have Cork and Wanyama, this position is too heavily populated at the moment. Anyway, that's my opinion on the matter, what does everyone else think?
  6. Do you think he should pay for this mistake with his job?
  7. 5 in 8 post game isn't it? Either way it's not great.
  8. It was disappointing that we changed the team, however we should have beaten them with the team put out and Lambert missing from a yard out obviously didn't help. A lot of the blame has to go on the players in that game. It was one of those things, it is unlikely to happen next season (unless in European contention/threat of relegation), I think people need to get over it. Adrian Durham is a numpty as well.
  9. Genuine you got me there GS...
  10. Is this not classic troll behaviour - effectively being a contrarian to wind other posters up?
  11. Where was I disagreeing with you?
  12. No, but I don't believe Barry watched that many games live, otherwise I can't understand how he says he doesn't make any effort as it is untrue. As I say, have a go at him for not living up to his pricetag, but if you think he can't be arsed then I question whether you watch the games or just have no idea what you're talking about.
  13. I don't agree with it...I think we should have gone all out to win.
  14. Yeah, cos you don't see his body language enough to make an informed judgement.
  15. I agree we should have gone for the FA Cup, and it was frustrating. However, there was no guarentee that we would have got to the final anyway. Either way you wouldn't have got a ticket as you won't have been to enough games over the qualifying period...
  16. Would you swap positions with Norwich, Barry?
  17. Best stick away from Portsmouth and Everton then...
  18. Yep, Croydon is an arse to get to at the best of times.
  19. People can have a go at Ramirez for not living up to his pricetag, but when you get keyboard warriors like Barry, Alpine and Glasgow WHO DON'T GO TO GAMES talking about the effort/body language then I wonder where they are getting this from.
  20. Why would he be top 3? He's done a good job. Probably around 6th. Wonder if Adkins will get top 3 or even top 10 in the Championship?
  21. Poyet will go down as one of the biggest managerial mistakes of the year so no idea how he can he on this list. For me it's: Rodgers Bruce Pulis
  22. It was also the reason that he wanted to leave Plymouth and join us (and why he went to MK Dons, as it was closer to London).
  23. Because he wanted to be closer to his homies in London.
  24. I think people are missing the point here, Puncheon wanted out. Big surprise that one of Glasgow's main arguments on this site turns out to be rubbish
