  1. I have posted a new blog entry entitled “Great Moments in Recent Southampton FC History (Part Four)”

You're up late/early, Red. Could have used your help yesterday in the Maryland court system. Now I owe that inbreed state more money!

    Great blog as always.

  2. Thanks for the write up. We're the home supporters as quiet as they sounded on TV?

What I liked most watching Koeman's tactics were, as you mentioned, the passing. There seemed to be loads more pace and not the sit-on-the-ball-possession-at-all-costs-wait-for-the-defense-to-get-in-position tactics of last year.

  4. BT Sport coverage is such a Man Utd love in, I feel I should go to my room and wait until they've finished

Well, you should watch the US/NBC feed because they've aired 3 or 4 commercials stating "I'm a Man U Fan" extolling the virtues of being part of the world's bestest fan base!

  5. Rather than start a new thread retrieved this from the murky depths.

Being a very lucky boy and getting 2 home shirts for my Birthday (there you go nicely set up for the jokers) I went to the megastore and swapped one for an away shirt. I said that I would take a 4xl as they were "the largest you do". "Oh no says the young lady we have 5xl too!". As I tried it on she said new stock was coming soon and that they are considering going up to 7XL because they came in much smaller than expected!! She then said that even she needed a 2XL they were so small, looking at her you thought, who the hell test drove them before signing off the order?!

When I got home and gave Mrs JBS a twirl we discovered that XL means Extra Long, still I ain't going to get a cold bum this winter!! :D

If I may ask, what size were you in last year's shirt?

  6. I agree. Can't help thinking the club are managing the Boruc situation badly. I don't know why Koeman had to come out so publicly at this stage making Forster his No.1 keeper and talking about Boruc contract, rather than just saying "We have 2 quality keepers now who will provide competition for places". Would have been far better for team morale in my opinion.

Meh, I like Ronnie's honesty and shoot from the hip mentality. It's his team and he calls the shots. I'd rather have him come out and say Forster's #1 than lie to me like I'm a naive child and say "I don't know if the guy we just dumped 10M quid on will start."

  7. I know Pulis and Parish met at a hotel in London. To see the looks on the faces of those in the room next to them.

    *raised voices, moving of chairs*

TP: You told me you'd give me more! I kept you up last year, I need more men to keep you up!

  8. Can't see this anywhere and it would be front page surely?

He's chatting it up with Steve Parish at a central Londinium hotel, per Sky Sports. Jos and Morgan player/coaches of Crystal Palace this season? You heard it here first!

  9. 9 pages in based on something in the Daily Fail. Has anyone seen this mentioned anywhere else?

Meh, it's more a wake for Jack Cork's Southampton career. Please, feel free to leave your condolences and remembrances, and don't forget to take a mass card.

  10. From the replies, it's clear the club's propaganda machine is operating on here trying to convince us it's good to get rid of Cork. Can't wait to see what they have to say when we come to realise what fools we are to let him go.

What!? If you would, please say that again, nearer to this boutonniere on my smoking jacket.

Yes, yes. Did you get that Kat? Our cover may be blown!

  11. Saints are playing a system with three central midfielders and Saints have seven first team central midfielders, Cork is 25 years old, isn't first choice and has only one year left on his deal. Although he is a good player its understandable why both the club would sell him and he'd want to leave.

He is not a "great player" and palace will not finish above us. If we are going to have a pathway to the first team for players like HR and JWP we can't have average mid/bottom premiership players standing in their way. I'm happy with the midfield we have without him, he's not as good as people make out . Playing for palace is about his level, we have a far better midfield than that.

Thank you and thank you, agreed.

  12. Florin Gardos is booked on a flight from Bucharest to London - landing tomorrow morning.

Explains why Jos and Morgan were in Londinium. They're part of the office "new hire" committee and will want to show Gardos all that the UK has to offer, especially its vast rail network.

  13. anyone else been somewhere nice on holiday this year?

Whilst on holiday a few months back I visited a small seaside English town and attended a football match.

  14. I don't think anyone has suggested he is going tobe our fist choice CB this year, so what's your point?

My original point was in response to Trout's comment regarding Jos and Yosh being unhappy at holding the 3rd/4th spots on the bench. Meaning, I don't think Jos would complain in that role. He's not that good for the prem so he's essentially got great seats to Premier League action every week and I don't envision him complaining about riding the bench.

  15. Why is he lucky to have a job? He's servd us well plenty of times, always given 100%.

and he should be thanked for what he's done, I have no ill will towards him, but I don't think he's up to Premier League snuff.
