  1. So with NBC, if you can get an American E-mail address, how much does it cost to subscribe to NBC Sports?

My apologies, I didn't explain it well. Saintalan and Art are correct. If one has cable/internet through a number of companies, as Art has listed, one can watch all Premier League games on TV, mobile or computer. NBC Sports is not a paid channel per say but is part of any number of cable packages offered by those companies. With my cable company it's offered in all TV packages except for the very lowest, basic cable package. By American email address I was referring to someone with the aforementioned cable companies creating a sub account for you and you get access to all NBC Sports offers (including NASCAR! ).

In short, it's "free" in the States.

  2. id love to take you up on this assuming you were serious and haven't promised it to anyone else

Serious as a heart attack. I know you're registered user so I'm assuming you can't PM me?

I've just remembered that I have a bank account/debit card from a US bank, I set it up as a joint account after getting married (my wife's from the US), but have never used it.

With that card alone could I get an NBC online subscription... and then use an IP changing service to watch outside of the US? Is it as simple as that do you think? I might have to look for alternatives in case PremierLeaguePass realise I'm not in New Zealand.

No, that's money laundering, I only work for booze. I joke, I joke (about the money laundering).

You need a US Internet Service Provider email address, not a US address. American ISPs like Comcast or Verizon are popular and you can use the actual NBC Sports website not an intermediary service based in Singapore, etc. Again, I don't think the website works when accessing it outside the States so one needs to get around that.

I'd rather not give my email address out via the forum so PM me or I can email you.

  3. I would ideally like to get a subscription to NBC, but it seems you need to know somebody in the US who will sell you their login details, and that seems a bit dicey to me.

Am still with PLP (though expecting to be barred from it anyday) with SportsNation HD, Star Sports and Offside Streams as back-up options.

They wouldn't have to sell THEIR login rights, they'd have to make an email address for you via their ISP and you could use that. You'd get your own login and password, separate from the person who provided it to you. I'm fairly certain the app and website would block non-US IPs though. I tried watching on my mobile whilst in London last season and it never loaded, that was on my normal US phone/SIM card, etc.

I provided a login for my mate who now has the privilege of watching his beloved magpies get beat every Saturday/Sunday.

Send me a case of Seafarers and I can make a login for you. You'd just need to figure out an IP block/changer mechanism. :)

  4. @bigadamsport: A few #saintsfc fans slightly worried about Sadio signing - there is no conspiracy theory - paperwork from Africa slow to be processed

"Fascinating! Semmi, look at this! Southampton is great indeed. Imagine a country so free, one can throw glass on the streets!"

  5. Saints will win this, then turn supernova and win the league. You read it here first! ;)

WRONG! After a supernova a black hole would remain, perhaps even a neutron star. We'll totes win the league though.

  6. Did anyone else see Antonio Brown's 'stomp' on the Browns kicker?

Apologies about the quality, but the NFL have blocked most of the better quality ones:

Two towns that embody scumbagery, Shytsburgh and Baltimore (google Ray Rice for those outside the States), both AFC North teams. I'm not surprised to see that.

  7. Losing DeSean Jackson won't be as bad in the long run. He was indicative of Andy Reid's bad drafting policies. DeSean is too small to be a #1 wide receiver but Foles doesn't look too bad, you should get past Jacksonville easily.

    Who Dey!

  8. I spent some time in Seattle a few years back and the kids were crazy about playing "soccer" in the park - but there wasnt much on TV. Do you think it will ever be as big as American Football and baseball over there?

Seattle Sounders averaged 44k people per home match last year so it's bigger than you think. As Wash mentioned, NBC has brought Premier League coverage to the mainstream. You can watch every game for free at home. I even went to a packed pub to watch the FA Cup final a few months ago. It's big and getting bigger (that's what she said).

With the cruise ships coming in and out of Southampton, they'll be busing Americans to St Marys for authentic English soccer. McDonalds every where! Har har har, our plan is coming together.

  9. I wouldn't tar all Americans with the same brush Wes.

Yes Fox are idiots (especially their studio with Barton and Wynalda - clueless) but on the flip side NBC are absolutely superb. Way, way better than ITV and BBC and better than Sky (when I left the UK 4 years ago but can't comment now).

The coverage on NBC is outstanding and they know what they are talking about - admittedly it is pretty much an English studio.

Fox were a joke when they had Premiership coverage and they are an even bigger joke now.

Thank you Wash. Most Americans are Man U fans because it's all they've ever really shown here. Before last season I paid $25/Month to watch Hooiveld and company, now it's free. We even get Championship footie too! It's the same reason people wear Yankee hats, and aren't the 49ers big in the UK? It's all they've shown on TV.

That article is written to pander to those schmucks.

  10. Hugo Almeida please. He would make us the best "haired" team that time has ever witnessed. The hair do's of our current lot coupled with that mustache. Can you imagine when we play manure and the balding Rooney running between that lot? He'd look like a lost pensioner that wondered onto a gay porn shoot.
