  1. You only have to cast your mind back a few years to the dark days of administration and points deduction to remember the pain. After some reflection, we still have our club, the Board have failed in meeting our aspirations but actually, the most fun I've had as a fan was in the Championship where the teams are equally matched. If that is ultimately our fate, worse things have happened at sea....or just along the coast. I'm thinking history will judge us as having had an opportunity to gatecrash the party but the risk of crashing and burning was too great. I don't think it is the transfer fees but the wages we ultimately can't afford with our commercial base. If you think how much the players that left would have had to have been paid to equal what they are being offered then that runs into millions. Our cost base would have tripled overnight. If Jose was right, Shaw wanted £130k a week! We simply can't afford that unless KL wants to bankroll it and actions suggest she doesn't and frankly, I don't blame her.
  2. And with our track record this summer, they're probably not far off the mark.
  3. But Luke Shaw had a fantastic season! This interview just shows me how much effort we have to make to keep Morgan. Make him captain, run the team around him and accommodate his strengths etc... Oh no, we did that already...
  4. [video=youtube_share;eHarQmBEbs0] Bunny Wailer, live at the Concorde2 in Brighton last night. The man has some back catalogue to draw upon and just went straight through, song after song for just over 90 minutes. Venue was jumping and bloody hot!
  5. [video=youtube_share;NWF-zEWckUU]http://youtu.be/NWF-zEWckUU I reckon you might like this then, but skip to 16.40 if you want to cut straight to the main man, the Don of ska!
  6. Love to know why? If Branfoot had remained and Ball hadn't come in, MLT wouldn't be the legend he is now. Simply put, players respond to different inputs and management styles. Some need a rocket, others need reassurance and the feeling of being wanted. Gaston's talents are there for all to see, how we as a club get the most out of him is the key.
  7. Ahead of next month's One Love Festival, Wailing Souls and next Thursday in Brighton, the last surviving Wailer, Bunny Livingstone. http://youtu.be/5V1ordcRuTo
  8. I think that this will be his season, if Koeman likes what he sees from him. I remember the difference between the treatment of MLT by Branfoot and Bally. Branfoot didn't like him for what he couldn't do, Ball liked him for what he could do. I'm hoping that he will be like a new signing for us and will get an extended run in the team to build his confidence and demonstrate his talents. If he tackles Lallana in front of the Kop and puts one into the top corner, I'm sure any abuse will end at that point!
