Jesus Reigned Posted 25 September, 2009 Share Posted 25 September, 2009 Title says it all really. Programme lasts for over an hour so should be decent highlights; featuring Danny Wallace's Goal of the Season.

yellow&blue Posted 25 September, 2009 Share Posted 25 September, 2009 See watching it now - would love to be able to travel back in time to the old Dell and be at that game again. How times have moved on………brings a tear to my eye!
dan17 Posted 25 September, 2009 Share Posted 25 September, 2009 I loved The Dell.............saw my first match there when i was 6.....it seemed like home then and no feeling has ever come close to cheering a goal at that place! Its a shame we had to leave (but we did have to leave).
Jesus Reigned Posted 25 September, 2009 Author Share Posted 25 September, 2009 Typical Mark Dennis tackle on Sammy Lee just now; might have got a red for that these days, it was that late....!!!
Colinjb Posted 25 September, 2009 Share Posted 25 September, 2009 This game was held just over a month before I was born. Yet it feels so familiar to me based on the reading up I've done on Saints history and despite the fact I have no family ties to the club. So weird. Gigersaint Posted 25 September, 2009 Share Posted 25 September, 2009 Looking at the turf I'm glad our pitch technology has improved, that nearside looks like a plouged field at each end!
Colinjb Posted 25 September, 2009 Share Posted 25 September, 2009 Come on, confess, who cheered out loud when Wallace got his second?
Jesus Reigned Posted 25 September, 2009 Author Share Posted 25 September, 2009 Come on, confess, who cheered out loud when Wallace got his second? All we deserved! Would you believe I missed the overhead kick, and they didn't show it again at the end!!
Legod Third Coming Posted 25 September, 2009 Share Posted 25 September, 2009 That was my first ever game Played on a Friday night Brings tears to my eyes even now...
Wurzel Posted 26 September, 2009 Share Posted 26 September, 2009 All we deserved! Would you believe I missed the overhead kick, and they didn't show it again at the end!! Me too. Not only that I missed it at the game as well. First time I'd ever gone for a **** during the match, took another 24 years before I'd do it again (by which time I just knew there was nothing to miss). jim_bergerac Posted 26 September, 2009 Share Posted 26 September, 2009 Can't believe I missed this - hold on its being repeated on Sunday at 2.50pm. Like so many others its was the first time I saw saints on the telly as a 9yr old. It was on the Friday night on BBC1. Happy Days!
landford.saint Posted 26 September, 2009 Share Posted 26 September, 2009 Funny thing was, they said at beginning pitch was in good condition.... I suppose it wasn't knee deep in mud, but 'good condition', THEY JEST.... shows how bad pitches were back then. 6 weeks before I got married. Still married and both season ticket holders.
