Saints 3 Ipswich 3

Fulham 2 Saints 1

Saints 1 Blackburn 2

Derby 1 Saints 0

Saints 1 Charlton 0

Everton 2 Saints 0

Leicester 0 Saints 4

Saints 2 Sunderland 0

United 6 Saints 1

Saints 0 Leeds 1

Strachan's first ten games in charge.

What do you see?

We managed to win three games and accrue 10 points.

Something else. We couldn't beat any decent teams. We beat three teams, Leicester would go on to be relegated (finish bottom on 28 points), Sunderland who finished 4th bottom and Charlton who finished 6th bottom and lost at home to Leeds (finished 5th) and Blackburn (finished 10th).

Does that help any of those reaching for the noose?

Looks to me a lot like our start this season...

Oh and on Saturday Pardew could have more points from his first ten games than Strachan, well feck me ;)

When you actually look through results for that season apart from the odd highlight we were really poor.

We finished on 45 points (in 11th granted). We won 12 fecking games...

But by golly what a season in 2003... the year later.

Exactly - I'm really excited about next season. I think we could really dominate.

before his 1st 10 games?

In WGS 1st 10 games we played United a strong leeds side, everton and Fulham.

In APs 1st 10 games we have played Brentford, stockport, carlisle and Yeovil!

Yes and with WGS we had premiership players. With AP we have league 1 players.

These teams are comparable by standard.

The point is, it was after one year that we started winning under Strachan and had a great season, not nine games. You understand that do you??

Clubs that sack managers regularly go from the Premiership to League One in the space of about 6 years.

Are you suggesting that we kept JP Gray or Wigley because I think they were the ones sacked

Hoddle Strachan Redknapp Burley left for Pastures new

Sturrock did not fancy the job and Pearson was too costly possibly

Mind you I agree that stability is a good thing but not that common theses days except at the top clubs

Are you for real that you think just cuz we've played Brentford, Stockport et al, that we should be doing better than Strachan's record?! WE'RE NOT A PREMIERSHIP TEAM ANYMORE.[/QUOTE]

Thanks for that! Nobody is slating AP in comparison to GS - that is dumb!

Well you are, because you're saying that LTGC's statistics aren't valid

Good post, anyone who believes that sacking Alan Pardew is the answer is ******* insane, If it is your view that Pards should be sacked, you must have been asleep for the past 10 or so years HELLO? WAKEY WAKEY!! IT - DOES - NOT - HELP - THE -SITUATION. This club has been through the wringer, and now the to55ers from the old regime have all moved on, we should learn from their ineptitude, and allow the new regime to manage us the right way, taking as much time as is necessary. What does 5 year plan mean to you fookwits?? To me it means exactly that, FIVE YEARS. Alan Pardew will get it right, but it wont be easy for him with the 'I want it now for nothing' culture.

Stability is common where the manager succeeds.

The challenge is to allow the manager the time to determine whether he will or will not succeed.

I think if you anlyse this League, you will find that the top three managers are all in their second season. Parkinson has been at Charlton for what 2/3 season including as assistant to Pardew. Grayson's first games in charge of Leeds helped them miss promotion last season....

You tell me how the results from the last 10 matches fit the "plan". I am disappointed in you, WA2. After the way we stood side-by-side a couple of years back, its a pity you have resorted to abusing those challenging the "progress" we are making.

Was it really only all about Lowe for you ? :(

You're being left behind. Whereas some people have realised we're turning the corner and are starting to be more confident, you're still playing Mr Negative.....what are you going to do?!

Funny how you've changed so much in a few months - I recall many posts criticizing JP while he was manager and many more criticizing McGoaldrick while he was a player............

You're a wind up!

Of course....JP didn't have a clue, and McGoldrick was awful! Pardew is new to the club and is a hell of a lot more qualified for the job!

You cannot build a team in ten games - we were pretty much starting from scratch - we are playing quite well and just need a bit more cutting edge - it will come given time....

only one thing, if it is a five year plan why has AP signed a three year contract??? can't work that one out?

Because they know Mourinho is needed to win the Premiership.

Simples. ;)
