Huffton Posted 3 October, 2009 Share Posted 3 October, 2009 Surely with the winter nights now closing in it would make sense for Saints to attack the Chapel in the second half, as the sun sets later in the game it is more likely to hinder a team attacking the Chapel in the first half. Also surely it is better for a team to be attacking a stand that is full of home fans, rather than split half and half, in a period of play when they may well be chasing the game? alehouseboys Posted 4 October, 2009 Share Posted 4 October, 2009 OK, I know this post is a bit tongue-in-cheek but... Attacking the Chapel is like kicking towards the away fans as there's little noise/support eminating from that end for the home side and of course this would mean the visitors are attacking towards their own fans late in the game when we generally buckle and throw the game away. Must be time to bring back the legendary 'SCUMMAs'*, they're still revered by our fishy friends down the road, they never stop talking about them.:smt023 * Southampton's Chapel Ultras Matchday Mayhem Army
CHAPEL END CHARLIE Posted 4 October, 2009 Share Posted 4 October, 2009 I think we should kick towards the Itchen in the first half when there's a R in the month and to the Kingsland every other leap year . Any player who can kick a ball over the Northam End gas holders gets a special prize . Chapel end goals count double and Papa Waigo can be used as our joker . Beach volleyball competitions to be held in the executive boxes . Sensible policys for a modern Britain - vote CEC .

Huffton Posted 4 October, 2009 Author Share Posted 4 October, 2009 OK, I know this post is a bit tongue-in-cheek but... Not tongue in cheek at all. My point being that this is the way every captain we've had has chosen to start the game when winning the toss since we've been at SMS, so clearly there is a tactical reason for it. So why do we need countless threads calling for change?
