JackFrost Posted 11 February, 2010 Share Posted 11 February, 2010 Apparently the 2010 F1 grand Prix at Silverstone will be run on the new 'arena' layout, says the BBC news ticker. Anyone know what parts of the track will and will not be used?
St Landrew Posted 11 February, 2010 Share Posted 11 February, 2010 If you'd clicked on the ticker-tape you'd know. I knew that the new MotoGP track layout would use some new infield parts, so it wouldn't be a simple, squirt, brake, lean over, back up and squirt again, track anymore. I thought the F1 people would use the existing/old layout. It appears they like the new layout. Funnily enough, some of the MotoGP guys would prefer the old layout. No pleasing some people. http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/motorsport/formula_one/8511026.stm

Looks interesting that, not sure where the 3 new overtaking opportunities comes from though

There will be more overtaking than you can shake a stick at.

Red Alert Posted 11 February, 2010 Share Posted 11 February, 2010 When looking at that track, do they drive clockwise or anti?
St Landrew Posted 11 February, 2010 Share Posted 11 February, 2010 When looking at that track, do they drive clockwise or anti? Clockwise. Generally, only in the U.S. do they race anti-clockwise, but there are exceptions.
