Red windows warning screen

Whenever my bro opens a webpage a red warning screen pops up saying it's unsafe.

 

What needs to be done to fix it??

I am guessing its IE8, and looks like this?

 

You can turn off the smart screen filter in IE8 by going tools-advanced- and unticking 'enable Smart Screen Filter'

It's kind of like that but it says that the website is unsafe and it says to register the computer software. I've installed the avira thing and scanned the pc but still fooked

sounds like spoof anti-virus.

 

Try downloading malwarebytes anti-malware and run a scan

No. I usually restart, hit F8 before the windows screen displays - boot into safe mode with networking. Run Spybot, Run Malware Bytes. Boot back into normal windows. Run SuperAntiSpyware. If you still think there might be some left overs or want to be particularly thorough, run Avira. Uninstall SAS. Leave the other 3 on there.
