Saint in Paradise Posted 7 June, 2010 Share Posted 7 June, 2010 If you receive an NIP in the post and admit that you were driving, the normal process is a standardised procedure of 1) paying the fine and 2) accepting the points. The matter is then dropped. But did you know that if you have 9 points on your licence and you receive an NIP, that as soon as you send it back with an admission that you were driving, you are AUTOMATICALLY summoned to appear in court? I didn't know as I am not a UK resident but one of my friends in the UK has pointed this out so I thought I would pass it on to you. .
Ponty Posted 7 June, 2010 Share Posted 7 June, 2010 Makes sense, as 12 points is a ban and you can't be banned by post.
