supermikey wrote yesterday that he thought the team would be as follows:

-------------------------BART-------------------

RICHARDSON-----MARTIN-----FONTE-----DICKSON

CHAMBERLAIN----GOBERN----CHAPLOW---LALLANA

----------------BARNARD----LAMBERT------------

Subs: Davis, Butterfield, Harding, Jaidi, Schneiderlin, Hammond, Guly

Hopefully this team could do a good job today, especially against a second string Blackpool side.

I think I might go with that.

This is a game that neither side really wants to win ! After all neither side is likely to get to Wembley - are they ?

Holloway doesn't have the resources of an Arsenal or Chelsea and in a league where two defeats can land you in the relegation zone he doesn't want to chance injuries to key players in a game that doesn't earn them 3 points.

Also he must reason that if his reserves can't take care of a L1 side (even a good one ) then they won't amount to much when he needs reserve cover in important Prem. matches.

NA is a winner, but likewise our present side is the right balance and replays , or injuries will only exaggerate the situation.

and he won't want unecessary games that might end up with a SF defeat against Man.U, and for once we aren't strapped for the cash from a Cup run (welcome 'though it maybe.)

Bart should hold his place, because it's good for his morale and good that NA can access his potential as Davis' eventual successor. Bringing in one of two of the regular bench; (Martin, Gobern) will be good for them, and we'd still have Guly or Connolly on the bench.

The time to blood the youngsters is when the team is playing in good form, not as a desperate measure when things aren't going well.
