Lets B Avenue Posted 7 April, 2011 Share Posted 7 April, 2011 Ditto. Although the Club Historian will point out that I couldnt remember Orient wore blue shirts in 66. I was 7 at the time.
Goalie66 Posted 7 April, 2011 Share Posted 7 April, 2011 Went to both those Orient games, anybody else Yep. Orient did play in blue in 66. Still remember Paines header. Both games we came from behind. Also went to cup game when we won 2-
Joe Kirkup Posted 7 April, 2011 Share Posted 7 April, 2011 My Dad took me in 78 ( the last game he took me to as I was 16 by then and have been going on my own since) so I'm taking him this week - he's 76 and he can't wait
100%Red&White Posted 7 April, 2011 Share Posted 7 April, 2011 I was only about 4 in '66 but great memories of 1978. If I remember correctly the attendance at Brisbane Road that night was around 19-20,000 of which nearly 75% were Saints fans - mostly dangerously squeezed into a massively over-filled terrace (opposite where we're housed Saturday) all along one side. There were more in the main stand and two end terraces, some of who quickly despatched the little mob of Spurs that turned up right at the end. I believe we also had upwards of 10,000 there in 1966. Only 3,300 officially there this Saturday (who knows how many more in the home stands) so although it wont be quite the same it's set up nicely for another noisy and memorable beer-fest of a day. Andyb1 Posted 7 April, 2011 Share Posted 7 April, 2011 My last 4 away games have all ended 1-1 after us going 1 up. I'm going sat so 1-1 it is.
hughieslastminutegoal Posted 7 April, 2011 Share Posted 7 April, 2011 (edited) Has to be if we are to go up We drew 1-1 at Brisbane Rd in both of our promotions to the top division Could it be a treble ie same result and promotion? Isn't the key to this the "top division" part? No precedent for getting out of div3. I was actually getting dragged out of one of their floodlight "pylons" by a copper when Terry scored in 66.
