david in sweden Posted 29 June, 2011 Share Posted 29 June, 2011 well not quite, but after the sad end to his (Saints) career Michael returned to Sweden and got a job as coach for his old side Halmstad. That was the good news..then. But now ......... Sadly Halmstad had a nightmare start to the season and sit firmly at the bottom of Allsvenskan (Swedish Prem.) with only one win from 14 games.....and so 36 year old Michael has blown the dust off his boots and had a run out with their reserve side yesterday. (no reports available) but if he has half-a-season left in him, it might just be enough to help his old side stay up, (because there are no parachute payments in Sweden). Saint Martini Posted 29 June, 2011 Share Posted 29 June, 2011 Seriously? If Killer and Zvirgzdauskas ever play together then that must be the slowest centreback pairing in the history of football! And unless he's going to score the goals then he won't be the solution to Halmstads troubles, they need to score more.
The Majestic Channon Posted 30 June, 2011 Share Posted 30 June, 2011 I think Halmstad are stuffed, shame . Mjällby too i reckon. Things aren't working out too well for Henke and his Landskrona either!!!
Saint Martini Posted 30 June, 2011 Share Posted 30 June, 2011 At least Gefle are fighting for the title! Who expected that?!
The Majestic Channon Posted 30 June, 2011 Share Posted 30 June, 2011 At least Gefle are fighting for the title! Who expected that?! Not me but fair play to them! Saw Helsingborg v gefle last season and counted 12 gefle fans! Bloody long drive mind.
Saint Martini Posted 30 June, 2011 Share Posted 30 June, 2011 I know a two of those 12... They travel all over the country following Gefle. Two weeks ago they went to watch Kalmar - Gefle, they got back around 2 midnight and they had to play with our local amateur team the next day at 11. Last year they went to Åtvitaberg away, not quite as long a drive as Kalmar or Helsingborg but after such a long drive you get to watch a footballmatch at this: If I remember correctly the weather wasn't the best either... I briefly spoke to 2 of them outside the stadium before the match, but that was a couple with their son so probably not the people you know. Saint Martini Posted 3 July, 2011 Share Posted 3 July, 2011 No, that wouldn't be them. Anyway, Gefle won again and more shockingly Dahlberg twice (3rd goal in 2 games) after going 2 seasons without a goal! Halmstads losing again by the way at home to AIK. They really need to get their act together.
Saint Martini Posted 16 August, 2011 Share Posted 16 August, 2011 Killer came on as a late sub in Halmstads last two matches. He's officially back.
