saintscottofthenortham Posted 15 June, 2012 Share Posted 15 June, 2012 The time has come for a new (used) motor and i'm verging for a Ford S-Max. Anyone have one that can vouch for them? Anyone know good places to look for one? Seen a few on Auto Trader but they are few and far between and the ones in our price range are the dead basic ones. Would like to avoid a trip up north if possible. Any help much appreciated. Looking to spend £6,500-£7,500. P.S - I have sort of eliminated all but Titanium models and it has to be leather. I'm not fussy.

What Insurance Group is that? I have had Diesel cars for past 5 years, can't really see me going back now.
stev2001 Posted 17 June, 2012 Share Posted 17 June, 2012 What about a titanium mondeo estate? Get a lot more for your money, big cars and better fuel economy.

sussexsaint Posted 19 June, 2012 Share Posted 19 June, 2012 Yep the diesel is a cracking model as well and much more fuel efficient, we had a choice of 2 and the performance of the 2.5 was just amazing - I'm afraid we got rather caught up in th emoment and bought that one rather than the sensible option. We have had 2-3 MPV's for the kids and the Smax is by far the best one I've ever driven and also the most practical as well. Everything folds flat so you can turn it into a van if you need to shift stuff, even has a decent boot with all 7 seats up , something a lot of them don't. There is a good 5th gear with VBH driving some OAPs around a track in the 2.
dronskisaint Posted 20 June, 2012 Share Posted 20 June, 2012 Got a friend selling an auto Zetec diesel, 08 reg I think - guess not spec-heavy enough for you? She loves it...her kids are gradually being old enough to keep the used Ka market healthy which is why she's selling
dune Posted 20 June, 2012 Share Posted 20 June, 2012 For 6.5-7.5k you can get a really nice audi/bmw/merc. Why buy a boring Ford or a Vauxhall or some French crap when something decent is in your price range?
