ericofarabia Posted 20 November, 2008 Share Posted 20 November, 2008 The minute's applause is probably the best option, rather than a minute's silence, in what could be quite a highly charged atmosphere, (although Saints fans have without fail always respected silence's unlike the blue scum from down the road.) Hopefully the Saints fans will show the same respect as they did at QPR (last season?) and maybe get a win as reward. Lets hope the minute's applause isn't the last thing we get to applaud
fareham saint phil Posted 21 November, 2008 Share Posted 21 November, 2008 As said above, i've never known Saints fans be anything but respectful in these sad circumstances and as always they will do the football club proud.
Billy Lyre Posted 22 November, 2008 Share Posted 22 November, 2008 I recall the silence at Newcastle for The Queen Mum being rudely interrupted by Saints singing in the concourse. I would have joined in if I was a real Anarchist...
Icey Saint Posted 22 November, 2008 Share Posted 22 November, 2008 the minutes applause was perfect to celebrate a young mans life, i think worth a shout for all the commentators / press / TV guys and girls all stood and joined in too.
rocknrollman no2 Posted 22 November, 2008 Share Posted 22 November, 2008 Even all of the Police joined in with the applause as well, which i thought was a nice touch.
Arizona Posted 22 November, 2008 Share Posted 22 November, 2008 We seem to have a pretty good record after minutes silences/applause. :-s Pompey after Ted died: 2-0 win Charlton a few days later when we tried again : 3-2 win QPR last season after their young guy, Jones, died: 3-0 win All Saints day last season: 1-0 win against Cardiff IIRC All Saints day this season: 1-0 defeat against Bristol City Minutes applause today: 2-1 win at Reading. 5 wins in 6 from recent memory.
