ok soz, if ur happy to shame urself in public that you can only afford HTC one then carry on.

Bletch - I want new laptops + dude at works has got one of those ones that is amazon or google or whatever, and is just internet brower. I dunno what it's called. It's black. It seemed pretty good tho, he said it was like only £200. Would I be better getting six of these or one Apple iLap?

I only use it for like saintsweb+porns. I don't want to play football manager on it or anything.

Edit: He says its called chromebooks

I've just bought a SIM-free 32GB White/Gold iPhone 5S to replace my iPhone 5. How many plastic Samsung/Google/HTC monstrosities could I have wasted my money on for the same £629?

Whilst word games are more my style, I do enjoy maths puzzles.

I dunno, um, two? Two and a bit? Perhaps three if you didn't go for a top of the range device. Actually on that basis, maybe 5?

I thought this was going to be one of those "How many Android owners does it take to change a lightbulb?" gags.

The answer to that is "None", because in the future we won't have light bulbs. B'dum tish!

Listen, despite your self-doubt, a gold iPhone isn't the waste of money you seem to think it is. As long as you really wanted it and can afford it.

And if you're unlucky enough to have one of the faulty battery versions, they'll exchange it for you. Even outside of warranty.

What you're experiencing is just buyer's remorse. It's a truly excellent phone.

BTW it's not real gold.

The HTC one is not plastic it is also aluminium or as if you are American Alumneum. Similar build quality.

That won't happen when you move to Android Toke.

Oh, and for the record I said whatever you do, don't buy the HTC One.

They contain re-soldered parts from Dragon 32s - Google it.

FFS Bletch, that's what happens when you write an essay instead of a post, mistakes are made by the lazy of reading.

What would have happened if a similar problem occurred with the Nexus 4 that you made reference to, for instance?

Could she have walked into a shop and been given a brand new handset for a battered old one that was 2 months out of warranty?

Could she have sent it off to Google and had it replaced (notwithstanding the fact that she would have been without a handset for weeks/months even OF the replaced it!)?

My daughter had a not too dissimilar experience recently: iMessage on her iPhone 5 started playing up not long after she started using iMessage on her iPad Mini, plus calls would often drop out about 4-5mins into a call. The iMessage issue was a known problem after the iOS 7 rollout (and incidentally was rectified by a firmware update the day after her visit to the Apple Store!) The call issue was not replicated in-store, so it is not known whether it was a software or Network Provider issue.) She walked out with a brand new handset within minutes- no testing, no days without a handset whilst it is investigated, just a no quibble and instant replacement and another happy customer.

And people still wonder why it is worth paying for Apple's quality products and customer service that is second to none?

More nonsense.

Bought a nexus 7 just under a year ago and the battery is playing up, called Google, they talked me through a reset. Few weeks later sane problem, they said give us the s/n, so I did. They've just shippd a new nexus against my Google account, and Details where to send the old one.

I can't walk into a shop, but don't even have to leave the house....

You also bring yup the price, if I was paying an extra third four the v same product it'd expect **** to work. Never had a Samsung, Sony or Asus product die on me after a few weeks so never had to resolve it. Even dropped my phone in a paddling poll this summer and our still works :-)

For any more myths that need de bunking?
