Bailey Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 (edited) At the time of writing, the team for Plymouth is set to be . . . ----------------- Davis ----------------------- James ----- Perry ----- Lancashire ----- Skacel ------------ Cork ----- Surman --------------- Lallana ------------ Euell -------------- Holmes ----------------- McGoldrick ------------------ However, changes may be made last minute, something that has been known to happen in the past. Also, Ryan Smith and Anthony Pulis are both set to feature on the bench. As for Alex Pearce, I'm not too sure but I'm hoping he plays ahead of Perry. Only time will tell and all I'm doing is passing on what I've heard. Oh and Merry Christmas to all and fingers crossed for 3 points on Boxing Day! InvictaSaint Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 So apparently McGoaldrought keeps his place - quelle surprise. My feelings? They rhyme with clucking bell....
mitch01 Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 McGoldrick wasnt as bad as Euell last match...just when I was beginning to think he was OK....
1976_Child Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 McGoldrick wasnt as bad as Euell last match...just when I was beginning to think he was OK.... Euell was pants last game. But I still reckon he adds some experience and strength to the team, and so on balance is worth being included.

InvictaSaint Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 McGoldrick wasnt as bad as Euell last match...just when I was beginning to think he was OK.... Ten minutes - ten - into the game on Saturday, DMG had his hands on his hips and looked puffed out already; so much so, that he wasn't sufficiently on his toes to change direction onto a Rudi through ball. How old is David? Twenty odd? He looked and behaved more like George Best at the arse end of his career; not bothered and lacking in stamina and fitness. The only difference being that Besty had something to look back on and be proud of. The fact that DMG keeps his place however appallingly he plays smacks to me of something being not right. southamptonfclegend Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 McGoldrick wasnt as bad as Euell last match...just when I was beginning to think he was OK.... ummm yes he was mcgoldrick is shocking i don't understand how he plays he's actually so SH*T he can't score he can't even be bothered to run so why the **** was he okay? 'cause he missed a couple of chances ooooooooooo well done McGoldrick YAYAYAYAYYA keep playing your superb!!!!!!!!!!
Saint_clark Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 Cork's played his best at CB, why are we not playing players where they are most effective? Lancashire will come good IMO but right now Pearce is the safer bet as well. Euell and McGoldrick = worst strike pairing i've seen ever, so why have they been given another chance? sunrise Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 Here's another suggestion: Davis Cork Perry Pearce Skacel James Surman Lallana Holmes BWP Euell
TheSaint75 Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 Here's another suggestion: Davis Cork Perry Pearce Skacel James Surman Lallana Holmes BWP Euell I'm liking that, I've thought for a while that LJ could be played further forward with his crossing and natural defensive tendency it could give a better service to the forwards and protection to defense.....but what do I know, I'm not Dutch! Neilza Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 I know we have conceded generally whatever centre back partnership we have played. But I just think, how are the players meant to get an understanding of how there partner plays, if we play a different pair every other week! We've had Cork and Pearce, Cork and Perry, Perry and Pearce, Olly and Pearce, Olly and Perry, Olly and Cork, Wotton and Pearce etc.
Saint_clark Posted 24 December, 2008 Share Posted 24 December, 2008 Euell tried but was very poor. McGoldrick didn't try or care. In my mind there's a big difference. Me too. Euell was putting in effort and was shocking, therefore we know he is bad no matter what. If someone can motivate McGoldrick, he may yet do something good. Bristol_Benji Posted 25 December, 2008 Share Posted 25 December, 2008 Here's another suggestion: Davis Cork Perry Pearce Skacel James Surman Lallana Holmes BWP Euell I honestly think you could be onto something here. Lallana will be in his preferred position, as would James. Just a bit worried about the defensive cover. Cork has been excellent as defensive midfielder recently. Still, I would like to see this being given a go.....

Stick Surman on the right (where he's played his best football for us so far IMO) and James in the middle as a defensive midfielder (his natural position). Sorted. I'm just not happy about Euell. If we're going to have someone up there as a target man, i'd rather have someone who can head the ball, hold it up and pass it to his own players, rather than flick it straight up in the air 50 times a match. Bailey Posted 25 December, 2008 Author Share Posted 25 December, 2008 THE TEAM FOR PLYMOUTH HAS CHANGED! We are now set to start with the following . . . ----------------------- Davis ---------------------- James ------- Lancashire ------- Cork ------- Skacel --------------- Gillett ----- Surman ---------------- Smith --------------- Lallana ------------- Holmes ------------------- Robertson --------------------- As I mentioned in my first post, the team has been known to change last minute and it appears it has happened again. Still, here's hoping for 3 points!
Topcat Posted 25 December, 2008 Share Posted 25 December, 2008 Is it true that Lowe has sacked JP and appointed as a new cunning plan the top coach from the Arsenal womens team as they are the best in their League? The rumour is that we can also expect as part of the experiment the use of females in the first team as Lowe says this is an untapped source of talent? David Strover Posted 25 December, 2008 Share Posted 25 December, 2008 We could try someone up front who can actually score goals regularly......oh sorry.
